Hobson Comfort Experts of Ft Worth TX, what a pleasure, to have done my homework in the decision process of finding the best overall AC HVAC company to install a complete new AC HVAC system in my 65 year old home in FT Worth TX. Completed in 2021. Texas having unbearable summer heat, this necessity entails a tremendous amount of thought and research to make the decision process on the company to contract , as a commitment that should carry through time. This week, proved, that 5 years ago I made the correct decision. Complications of course can occur to just about everything, involving moving working parts; troubleshooting, and experience especially, is imperative in working through any and all unpredictable complications, when I rang the bell on this being a emergency of sorts, in what was going to be a somewhat complicated troubleshoot of a condensation water issue, that was a bit complex and needed some complex troubleshooting in a tight environment, Hobson Comfort Air, along with many staff employees including Kristi , with communication and Alonso, and Manager Ryan Schmuhl, fully recognized the complication, reacting superbly with a rapid fix with excellent communication skills, along with skilled abilities to get their way around a bit of complications with the fix, I realized I did make the right decision 5 years ago by contracting Hobson Comfort Air of Ft Worth, TX. to place this new system in a now 70 year old home The critical thinking, the recognization of the emergency ( due to absolute need of AC in the summer heat of central Texas, repairing this somewhat difficult condensation water issue was immediately addressed. Thank you to all involved , Sandra Laborde

Had routine tune-up on air conditioner unit that was running perfectly fine before service -with my outside unit, I felt tech kept wanting something to replace/repair – when declined recommendation(s) of wire cover and something else I cannot recall, tech inquired why and I said, "I do not have it" and he stated "can I ask what is going on" first red flag, why are you asking me such a question? Inside AC Unit – tech put 2 gallons of water @ once in tubing system in inside unit – (SHOULD HAVE ONLY PUT 1-2 CUPS) stated I had clogged – went to see and did not see any water backed up nor in drain pain – he stated oh, it's going through now – AC won’t come back on until unclog – need to blow out – cost $402.00 OVERCHARGED – Wanted to cut open box on top to look in to see if there were any bacteria – I declined – now after blowing out asked to sign statement that company not responsible for anything that may go wrong – WAS NOT ADVISE OF THIS BEFORE CHECKING FOR CLOG – MAY HAVE DECIDED TO END TUNE UP -AC stopped working 30 minutes after his departure – whole unit shut off – called back before noon – took 2 ½ hours to return – personnel/tech were pleasant but felt swindled – supervisor called me to discussed – i requested refund due to unit working perfectly fine – had been called at least twice a month asking me to do tune up – refund request denied but felt he could have provided discount – stated he would not charge me a service fee on next visit, i do not feel comfortable using again.
Daniel was an excellent technician. He diagnosed the issue quickly and fixed the problem. He also made recommendations to help in the future. The only problem is you are not given any time frame in which to expect the tech. The last 2 times I had service I was told between 8-5 and both times I made sure to be available all day and the tech didn’t get to me until after 4both times. I think they could do a little better in scheduling.
The tech was friendly and did a good job.
Work was done quickly and resolved the problem.
Daniel was quick, yet thorough. Everything checked out fine. He did point out some optional things that I might consider in the future.

I conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the HVAC system. The customer had received multiple quotes indicating the need for ductwork insulation. Upon inspection, I found that while the insulation was old, there was still enough to avoid immediate concern. I connected my gauges to the system and discovered critically low levels of R-22 refrigerant and a significant leak in the evaporator coil within the air handler. Given the customer's long-term residence plans, they decided to schedule a comfort advisor visit to discuss potential system upgrades. The advisor was arranged for the same day.
one for separating the grounds and neutrals, another for adding a surge protector, and a third for adding GFCI protection in the kitchen if desired.
I installed a 25-foot cable in the AC drain and ensured it functioned properly. The customer opted for the Comfort Care Club, using a card ending in 0680 for the monthly charge. During the process, I discovered a chip in the cast iron drain, extending it by 1 inch to bypass the obstruction. This thorough evaluation and adjustment ensured the system's optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Upon arrival, I found the upstairs unit was not cooling. Upon inspection, the board displayed a L2 code, indicating a high pressure lock out. The fan motor capacitor was faulty, and the condenser coils were heavily coated with dust. I cleaned the coils and replaced the capacitor. The refrigerant levels were checked and found to be adequate. The unit started cooling immediately. I also discussed a compressor saver and soft start estimate due to high compressor amping. Lastly, I explained our new membership, which the customer approved.
Upon arrival, I thoroughly inspected both HVAC systems, which were approved for replacement. The right side unit, an old R22 system, had a return plenum hanging off, temporarily taped until replacement. All capacitors in both systems were out of tolerance, and the indoor and outdoor units were in poor condition. The left side unit, an 18-year-old 410a system, had a loose high voltage connection charring the contactor, risking a short circuit or breaker trip. Additionally, the evap drain pan was cracked, causing water to leak into the emergency pan and rust it out, with the emergency pan also leaking at the PVC connection. Both systems are operational but inefficient. Replacement is recommended.
The customer contacted us to proceed with the recommended repairs after their blood mud system failed. I began by replacing the faulty blower motor. Next, I thoroughly cleaned the outdoor unit to remove any accumulated dirt and ice. I then checked the refrigerator pressures to ensure they were within the optimal range. After confirming that all components were functioning correctly, I tested the system to verify that it was cooling effectively. The customer expressed their satisfaction with the service, and everything is now working as expected. They appreciated our expertise and did not require a membership brochure as they had previously opted out.
I successfully installed a Goodman 42k hz heat pump, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency. The installation included the integration of standard filtration systems to enhance indoor air quality. I meticulously followed all safety protocols and adhered to the specified code ki guidelines. The system was tested for proper operation, and I provided detailed instructions for maintenance and usage to the client. The job was completed to the highest standards, ensuring satisfaction and reliability.
Responded to a call regarding a furnace breaker tripping. Upon arrival, I reset the breaker and restored power to the AC and furnace. The AC briefly operated but then stopped. Both breakers are receiving and distributing power, and the thermostat is set correctly. To address the issue, I left the furnace cover partially open for the AC technician to inspect the recently installed system.
Upon arrival, I began by checking the indoor blower, which was operating correctly. I inspected the air filter, finding it clean, and verified that the condensate drain lines were clear and functioning properly. Moving to the outdoor unit, I discovered that the condenser fan motor was not running, while the compressor was operating but repeatedly overheating and shutting off every 30 seconds due to thermal overload. I tested and replaced the run capacitor, which was found to be faulty despite proper voltage. After replacing it, the condenser fan started operating normally. The compressor, having struggled due to the lack of airflow, required a hard start kit to assist during startup. Once cooled, it started and ran properly. I also cleaned the extremely dirty outdoor condenser coil, which was restricting airflow and contributing to the compressor's overheating and capacitor failure. After thorough cleaning, I verified proper airflow and operation. The system was tested through a full o
The customer reported an issue with their HVAC system, which was not providing adequate cooling. Upon inspection, I identified a clogged air filter and a malfunctioning thermostat. I replaced the air filter and calibrated the thermostat to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, I performed a thorough cleaning of the HVAC unit and checked for any refrigerant leaks. After completing these tasks, the system was functioning efficiently, and the customer confirmed that everything was working as expected.
I conducted a thorough system evaluation and identified that the downstairs damper was not functioning due to a constant 24V signal, which kept it closed. I rewired the zone control board, resolving the issue and restoring proper damper operation. Additionally, I discovered that the blower motor is failing, leading to poor airflow, causing the evaporator coil and refrigerant lines to freeze. I recommended replacing the blower motor promptly to prevent further damage and ensure optimal cooling performance. The homeowner chose to postpone the repair but understands the risks of continued operation.
Upon arrival, I identified that the breaker tripping was caused by an outdated switch intended for an exterior light. After discussing the issue, I explained the potential risks and the straightforward repair process. Although the customer opted not to proceed with the fix, I ensured they understood the situation. I charged for the service, as I had already diagnosed the problem, and the customer was satisfied with the resolution, preventing further breaker trips.
Upon arrival, I identified areas where the zones had been incorrectly crossed, disrupting the intended functionality. I carefully uncrossed these zones, ensuring that each connection was made according to the system's design specifications. After making the necessary adjustments, I systematically tested each zone to confirm that they were operating correctly. This involved checking for proper signal transmission and ensuring that all devices within the zones responded as expected. The corrections restored the system's intended performance, providing seamless operation and reliability.
Upon inspection, the HVAC system was found to have a significant clog in the drain line, impeding proper drainage. Additionally, the system required a refill of 1 pound of 410a refrigerant. I successfully cleared the drain line and refilled the refrigerant, ensuring the system operates efficiently. The homeowner is considering whether to undertake further repairs independently or seek professional assistance.
I conducted a comprehensive cooling tuneup, starting with a thorough inspection of the indoor system. I replaced the air filter and meticulously checked all electronic components to ensure they were functioning correctly. The drain lines were also examined for any blockages or leaks. After confirming that everything was in good working order, I moved outside to clean the outdoor unit and verify the refrigerant pressures. During the inspection, I discovered a damaged wire on top of the capacitor. I promptly repaired this issue, ensuring the system operates efficiently. The system is now fully functional, and I appreciate the opportunity to provide expert service.
I was called to address an electrical issue and upon inspection, discovered a loose wire. The customer also mentioned a few other concerns, which I examined thoroughly. After assessing the situation, I prepared a detailed quote form. The customer expressed interest in the proposed solutions, particularly because she had not used the affected area frequently and was keen on resolving the issues promptly. I ensured that all potential problems were addressed comprehensively in the quote.
I conducted a comprehensive cooling tuneup, starting with the refrigerator. I turned it off and inspected all electrical components. Next, I checked the filter and airflow within the system, ensuring optimal performance. Although biological growth was detected, the customer opted not to address it immediately. She is utilizing her home warranty and has scheduled a plumber for June 6 to replace a faucet she is purchasing. The plumber will handle the replacement as the first task.
During the evaluation, the customer reported that the disconnect breaker and AHU had tripped. The home operates entirely on electricity, with the condenser drawing 148 amps at startup. After a thorough inspection, no immediate issues were found. To mitigate the high startup amperage, a Soft Start kit was recommended and sold. I will return tomorrow to install it. Thank you for choosing our services.
Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough evaluation and found that the coil and auction linset were frozen. Despite this, there were no airflow obstructions present. I proceeded to dethaw the ice and performed a leak search for over 30 minutes, but no obvious leaks were detected. The unit was significantly low on refrigerant, with a saturation temperature below freezing. After carefully topping off the refrigerant, the unit resumed normal operation within its designated limits. This intervention ensured the system's efficiency and restored proper functionality. Thank you for choosing our services.
I spoke with the customer over the phone to clarify pricing, ensuring they understood the military discount was applied. However, the $49 service fee was not deducted as the work was not scheduled at that time. During the visit, I discovered that previous contractors had removed siding, installed a new wiring box inside the wall, and switched to a different type of wire. This caused the GFCI to trip due to a ground touching a neutral or hot. I explained the issue and provided a quote for the necessary repairs once the siding is removed.
Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough evaluation of the system. The unit was intermittently turning on and off, indicating a potential issue with the cooling mechanism. After a detailed inspection, I identified that the compressor was malfunctioning, which was the root cause of the system's erratic behavior. Despite my efforts to diagnose and explain the problem, the customer remained dissatisfied. They have decided to contact the office to discuss the situation with management.
I was called to address an issue with the down-stream unit not blowing cold air. Upon inspection, I discovered that the compressor cap had failed. After confirming the cap replacement with the homeowner, who had signed up for a membership on the down-stream system, I replaced the cap and tested the unit. The system started cooling effectively. I also checked the refrigerant levels, all electrical components, and ensured the drains were clear. Additionally, I found that the up-stream unit had filters in the return grills and at the unit itself. The homeowner was unaware of the filter at the unit, so I removed it to prevent air restriction. The system is now cooling properly. The homeowner expressed interest in adding the up-stream unit to his membership at a later date.
a basic one-year warranty capacitor without a membership, and a premium capacitor with a lifetime warranty that included a membership. The homeowner chose the basic capacitor. After replacing the faulty capacitor, I checked the refrigerant levels and found them to be within normal limits. The temperature split between the return and supply plenum was a comfortable 19°. I ensured the system was functioning optimally before concluding the service. Thank you for choosing our services, have a great day!
I successfully installed a new trap for the AC unit, ensuring it was properly aligned and securely fastened to prevent any future water accumulation. Additionally, I identified and repaired the water leak at the water heater line, replacing any damaged sections and ensuring a tight, leak-free connection. I also replaced the water heater with a high-efficiency model, ensuring it was correctly installed and tested for optimal performance. The entire process was completed efficiently, with all work meeting the highest standards of safety and quality.
Upon conducting a comprehensive evaluation of the entire system, it was determined that the customer's evaporate coil had a catastrophic leak. I meticulously identified the issue and communicated the findings to the customer. Following this, I coordinated with the cover supervisor, who is scheduled to arrive around 8 o’clock this evening. The supervisor will review custom upgrades and ensure the system is ready for installation first thing tomorrow. I ensured all necessary preparations were made to facilitate a smooth and efficient installation process.
