As we go about our busy lives, AC repair typically isn’t the first thing on our minds. Getting to work, taking the kids to school, making other appointments and running errands are much higher on the list. However, we may see little clues about our AC throughout the day that we ignore that could be alerting us that an AC repair isn’t far off. If you’ve started to notice your AC unit is not performing that well but have put off dealing with it, here are a few issues that let you know it’s time to call a professional to check it out.
It’s common for at least one person to not be comfortable with the temperature. We all know someone that wears a coat in seventy-degree weather or is hot even when it’s fifty degrees out. However, when you find everyone complaining about the temperature inside (including you), it’s time to call an expert in for air conditioning service. Once your repair is complete, you’ll be amazed at the difference in the temperature and you’ll probably wish you had called sooner.
When you notice that your system is louder than you remember, it’s a sign that your system isn’t working as it should. If you don’t think that you need an AC repair just yet, you can have an experienced company do an inspection to see what the issue is. This will give you a better idea of what to expect, or if the sounds you’re hearing are normal. While the experts are there inspecting your AC unit, ask them what you can do to keep your unit in good shape on a daily basis.
Age plays a role in how well your unit performs throughout the years. As the system gets older, chances are you will need more repair visits. Talk to the experts as your HVAC unit ages so you know what to expect down the road. Some people find that investing in a new unit earlier saves them money in the long run because they won’t be weighed down by the repair costs. Others wait until it’s absolutely necessary to get a new unit because the old one can no longer be fixed.
While it’s completely up to the individual, investing in a new unit is an excellent way to save money on your energy bill and get to enjoy the latest advancements that improve performance and ease of use. Plus, you get to avoid all of those emergency repairs that come with owning an older model.
If you start to see rust on your AC unit, or if it looks like it’s been beaten up by harsh weather, take the time to call an AC repair company. You want someone who has a trained eye to know whether the amount of deterioration is normal or if you need to start thinking about the next steps to prevent problems in the future.

Excellent service. Nathaniel is ver pleasant to work with and did a fine job.
Toby provided many options for the replacement of our 15+ year old unit. He was very friendly, thorough and helpful without pressuring us for a sale. His explanation of options was excellent.
We have been customers of Comfort Experts for years and have always been very satisfied.. Yesterday, Colby provided excellent service and offered options for repair and replacement of our 15 yr+ unit. We appreciated his forth-rightness and insight. We would highly recommend him and Comfort Experts!
After multiple estimates already on the books, Comfort Experts have come in with the most expensive quote yet. 🙁
Tyler S. was prompt and got to our address within 3 hours of our request. Was able to take care of our bathroom sink drain within an hour and half. A clog caused our bathroom sink to backflow from the water coming down from the AC drain line. Would definitely use them again!
Zak is very thorough. His accurate assessment of our AC was spot on providing needed information both now and in the future. Great service tech!
Our tech on the day was Kellen, and we could not have been more satisfied with the man as well as his work. Kellen arrived in a most timely fashion and got right to work diagnosing the issue with our a/c compressor. Turns out the condenser unit was shot (thank you Texas weather) but he got us up and running quickly. He didn't stop there though; he did a thorough inspection on the indoor unit as well. That turned up a couple of issues which we will need to address in future, but Kellen did not try to pressure us into buying anything at this time. He explained what would need to be done and left it to us to decide when, and if, to proceed. No high pressure sales, he just provided the info for us. Even had photos of the actual problem areas so that we could see for ourselves where the problems were. Five stars!
Professional, courteous, informartive/
Mike was very professional and friendly and helpful. He explained to me my options for the installation of water heater and he placed my mind at ease.
We are very satisfied with the recent maintenance checkup
Exceptional service
We always have great service from Comfort Experts! Friendly and informative representatives.
Ryan was great. He was extremely professional and fixed the problem, but I have an issue with the cost of his visit. My issue ac/heat issue was supposedly fixed the day before by Zak, but after he left the problem still persisted so that is why Ryan had to come out. There was a part that needed to be replaced so I had to pay an extra $400 (after my 20% discount) on top of what I paid the previous day. After doing some research, I could of purchased the replaced part online myself for $20 and it took Ryan no more than 10 minutes to install the new part. I think it is utterly ridiculous that this fix was $400. I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.
Mark was very friendly and professional. Quick to replace our capacitor. Thanks!
His team works Name : Ethan and Craig did very good job
Joe was awesome! He informed me of all the work that was done and answered any questions that I had. Would definitley reccomend Comfort Experts!
I have installed 2 extra outlets for small appliance use
Replace main area unit with Amana 2 stage 36k gas upflow keep current filtration
On arrival system was off. When system turned on condenser made a metal on metal noise. Found dual run capicator blown. Once replaced condenser came back on but compressor would randomly stop making the noise and start trying to pump the non existent refridgerant, the rest of the time it would grind and not pump refridgerant. Found leak in condenser near filter dryer. Due to age and condition of equipment and the catastrophic nature of the equipment failure I recommended speaking to a comfort advisor about replacement. Visit is set for 9-12 tomorrow.
Replaced both hose bibbs on home and tested after replacement everything working properly, hose bibbs were leaking slowly when arrived. After repair noticed water meter is leaking on the meter nut on city side. Customer said she would call city and have them out to fix it at the meter.
I have found a few things that do need to be addressed but mainly the main panel, it's very crowded, in a closet and doesn't have any kind of main shut off so I have given him an estimate regarding replacing the panel and a HVAC tech will be out tomorrow morning to evaluate his system as it is much older and he says it keeps tripping the breaker but electrically speaking I could not find any issues
On arrival condenser was not running due to an exploded capicator. Replaced under warranty and system resumed cooling.
During this tune up I washed the condnesor added an easy start. Inside i change the filter and added an iaq200. Im happy to report that they sytem is clean and checks in tolernace. System is now back online and ready for cooling.
On arrival system cooling producing 19 degrees cooling. I door unit clean aside from bacterial growth in air handler and supply plenum. Drain line flowed when flushed. Outdoor unit passed all electrical testing. System cooling as I left.
During this visit I changed out a uv germ bulb
During this visit I tested the system in cooling. I washed the condensor and checked froen levels. I also adjusted some ducts that were pinched. System checks in tolerance. Im ordering a new germ light and pasuing the call until bulb comes in.
On arrival system running and cooling as intended. Indoor unit clean and producing 20 degrees cooling. Drain line flowed when flushed. Outdoor unit passed all electrical testing but condenser overamped on start up. Recommended either a compressor saver kit or a soft start kit to reduce the wear and tear on the compressor when it starts. Cust declined all recommendations at this time.
Arrived onsite customer had a wall removed where shower valve install hall bathroom is. Wanted the shower valve installed customer going to get more quotes will call us if she needs us
Arrived onsite met with person living in home. He said to write estimate for hose bibb replacement and email to customer paying invoice as she is at work and not available. Wrote estimate and emailed customer
Replaced defective outlet. Moved surge protector outside of panel.
For this cooling tune-up I inspected the customer's air handler and condenser, all equipment was measuring within manufacturer specs and running well. I would recommend to the customer upgrading her UV system or replacing the bulb as the current bulb is burnt out. Additionally I would recommend her getting a duct cleaning as she has never had a duct cleaning in the 30+ years of living in the home. Customer would like to have an electrician come out to look at an outlet that sparked last April.
Arrived onsite customer just wanted some estimates for work wrote some options for him. Office needs to contact to collect service fee customer left home while writting up estimates.
Came to job to Quote swapping out a fan and did the work Customer is happy
Customer allowed me to complete tune up but was expecting hvac tune up.
Came to job for electrical inspection and quoted them on grounding.Their panel and also adding surge protection And? Adding smoke detectors
System had its filter changed that when I arrived blower was a little dusty.Attic is low on insulation. induce your motor and all safeties are working. Uv bulb is out and the Condenser outside was very dirty.I cleaned its capacitor was within tolerance. All amperages within range
On arrival system running and heating producing 20 degrees delta. Indoor unit very dirty. Dust fully bypassing filter, leading to a very dirty coil and blower. This impacts efficiency by reducing airflow. Additionally biological growth was present in both blower compartment and supply plenum. Recommended an April aire upgrade kit to install filters that will no longer bypass dust, an iaq 200 uvc system to kill biological growth spores in airflow, and a level two duct cleaning which will clean up all the construction dust along with cleaning the blower, coil, and spraying an anti fungal and microbial spray through the ducts and system. Outdoor unit was overamping on start up pulling 122 amps, exceeding the red line of 112. Additionally the contactor was buzzing and pitted. Recommended replacing contactor and adding a compressor saver kit to prevent overamping and overall help the compressor start easier. Discussed with customer over phone, will call to follow up Monday.
