Joe - White Settlement, TX 76108
I have water dripping from my AC unit. The technician took five minutes to look at the puddle and check for a connection under the bathroom sink. He did not even go up in my crawl space to assess the AC unit itself. He told me it’s PROBABLY a clog further down in the pluming, backing up into the unit, and that I needed to call a plumber instead. After that “expert advice,” he had the GALL to charge me a $49 service fee for coming out, and told me I should be thankful I had a coupon so that it wasn’t more! I chose this provider because both my father and brother had full unit replacements with this provider and maintain service contracts with them. We’re now questioning if that level of hardware replacement was necessary for them. I guess all three of us will be going elsewhere from here out for our HVAC needs.

Tech arrived at a 2 system Goodman tuneup. Upon inspection the capacitors were within specs. The contactors were in working condition. The condenser coils were hosed off to assist with air flow across the coils. There was no observed surge protection. The filters were dirty. There was no replacement for the 1 inch filter. The right side system blower motor was dirty. The evaporator coils were a little dirty. There were no drain safeties. The right side system drain was draining slowly. The Deltas were within range. The insulation levels were a little low. Customer was informed of recommendations. He has many projects that he would like to address before focusing on the HVAC systems. The systems were functioning upon departure.

Tested all components all measured within ratings and specs. Refrigerant level is normal. Washed and cleaned outdoor unit. Changed filter.

On arrival the system was running and cooling. I didn't find any problems with the drain line, I replaced the capicator under warranty. The defrost control board is scorched on the backside and is likely the cause of the low voltage issue. I did respade the low pressure safety and re attach it and after 3 cycles of turning the system on and off the problem did not persist. I advised the customer that if the issue comes back we will need to replace the defrost control board due to scorching on the back side.

Goodman heat pump with air handler installed in 2014. Customer complained of an intermittent issue. System would cool during the day and stop at night. Customer suspected system was freezing up. Technician discovered that outdoor unit was losing low voltage intermittently. Jumped the “r” “y” “g” and “w” at the thermostat to find that problem persisted. Bypassed the drain switch to see if it was a faulty switch and the problem persisted. Technician replaced the primary electrical control to find that the problem stopped for about 20 minutes. Finally the technician bypassed the pressure switch and the problem stopped. Talked to customer about replacing switch but eventually decided on just leaving it bypassed and acknowledging the possible risk.

Cleaned condenser coil, system is operating normally at this time.

Lowered blower speed and cleaned condenser coil, was able to achieve 14 delta, ordering new txv

Goodman heat pump with air handler installed in 2019. Arrived to no cool. Discovered compressor running but vapor line was not cold. Checked EVAP coil and discovered ice starting to build up on coil. Performed leak search and found leak in lower left corner. Homeowner just purchased home. Refrigerant leak was found in home inspection and sellers were supposed to have it fixed before sale was complete. Gave customer estimate to repair.

Installed drain pan

Completed my thorough inspection, the indoor unit would benefit with a drain switch so that the unit turns off if the water is backed up. I'd also advice for a UV light to sanitize the surface of the blower. All other wires and components are functioning. The outdoor units capacitor is within rating, I'd advice installing a compressor saver to lower the starting amps of the compressor.
