Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. System is a 4yo Amana heat pump. INDOOR: Customer wanted to wait on changing filter, the drain was clear, the blower had major dust buildup and needed cleaning, the bottom side of the A-coil was very dirty and needed cleaning, the amount of dust buildup in the indoor equipment is most definitely affecting the airflow of the system. The temperature split was 18 degrees, and the heat strips were functioning within range. OUTDOOR: I washed and waxed the unit before taking any readings. The compressor and fan motor were operating within manufacturer range. The capacitor was weak and in need of replacement, I swapped it out under Warranty P&L. The primary electrical control was in good condition. I was unable to take accurate refrigerant charge readings because of the low airflow in the indoor equipment and because of the low temperatures outside. I shared my findings with the homeowner and gave my estimates for cleaning the in

For this super tune-up if I inspected the master bedroom furnace and condenser. For the most part all equipment was measuring with the manufacturer's specs and running well. The condenser capacitor was out of tolerance reading 46 microfarads out of 50. I do recommend replacing that as well as adding a hard start kit as the customer stated they would like to keep the system going for as long as possible. Customer stated they had a hard start kit on their previous unit however it did not work so he will forgo it.
Submitted estimate for exterior outlet.
