North Texas HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical Company Reviews

Skilled Technicians, Awesome service!
Had a broken solar system and contacted Comfort Experts after going through 2 other local solar services who charged 100s of dollars just to look at it. Comfort Experts gave a free estimate and had Jake come out and give me an assessment that this was going to be a big problem, pulling apart the whole setup which took many attempts to resolve. But they found the solution, worked with the manufacturer to get me the new equipment and got the whole solar setup working again. Had a few others of the team support Jake, namely Brian and Hunter, they were all professional, knowledgeable and just a pleasure to work with. Really cant recommend enough, they will be my go to business for solar, home electrical and AC from here on out. Thanks guys!

Cody came right when he was supposed to and was able to resolve our issue pretty quickly. In addition, he looked at our new unit that we had installed last week and checked to make sure that it was working properly. That was a mini split unit that was upstairs that we had a couple questions on. Overall, very happy.

Slow & costly service.
9/28/26 repairman found pressure a little low not equipped or did not use leak detector but added coolant. Charged 101.00 + 49.50 for coolant added. 10/9/26 pressure low again, this time leak detector found leak in cooling coil. Charged $349.00 deposit for labor to replace coil. Since coil under 10 year manufacturer warranty, no charge for coil, will be just a little over $1000 labor. 10/12/26 Manufacturer will not honor coil warranty because previously replaced in that unit. However, entire indoor and outdoor unit was replaced in 2023. Either coil failed before 3 years or else they only repaired the unit in 2023 but charged me for new unit with up to date coolant. Technician told me on 10/12/26 that the unit has obsolete coolant. Required Coolant changed after 3 years? Right now I am thinking I should be refunded the $150.50 for wasted coolant and $349.00 for wrong deposit since unit is still not repaired. No one seems to know how much this is going to cost.

I conducted a thorough super tune-up on the gas furnace. Starting with the outdoor unit, I checked refrigerant levels and pressures, discovering a faulty TXV. Although I recommended immediate replacement, the customer opted to delay due to cooling temperatures. I then inspected all internal components, ensuring proper operation. After shutting down the outdoor unit, I found biological growth in the indoor system and suggested a UV light installation. The customer agreed and financed the cost. Post-installation, I verified a 15-degree temperature split, replaced the air filter, and inspected condensate drains for proper flow. The system now operates and cools as intended.

Upon arrival, I identified a leak in the water heater, which was installed in 2022 and still under manufacturer warranty. The customer requested that the recently replaced air conditioning unit, installed by another company, remain untouched. Given the water heater's location in the same closet as the AC, it was necessary to temporarily remove the AC unit to replace the water heater. This involved cutting a section of the wall to access and remove the water heater. The AC unit was carefully extracted and will be reinstalled after the water heater replacement. The work is scheduled for tomorrow, with a crew assisting in the removal of the AC unit for the plumber, who will handle the water heater replacement.

Today, I successfully replaced the existing shower head with a new one provided by the customer. The process began with removing the old shower head and thoroughly cleaning the area. I then installed the new shower head, ensuring it was securely attached and functioning properly. Additionally, I applied a fresh layer of silicone sealant around the bottom of the shower to prevent water leakage and enhance durability. I demonstrated to the customer how to operate the new shower head, ensuring they were comfortable with its use. The customer expressed satisfaction with the new shower head and the improved silicone seal around the shower base.

I began the super tune-up by thoroughly inspecting the outdoor unit, checking refrigerant pressures and internal components for proper operation. I discovered excessive amperage draw and recommended a soft start installation, which the customer's father, a professional electrician, agreed to handle. Moving to the indoor unit, I verified an ideal 20° temperature split and ensured proper drainage by pouring two gallons of water through the primary drain line. I also recommended a P-trap installation, drain line repair, and a drain safety switch, though the customer declined these. The igniter and flame sensor showed significant wear, prompting a replacement recommendation. I inspected other internal components and suggested duct cleaning and insulation upgrades, which the customer also declined. I replaced the system filter and ensured the system was cooling effectively. Estimates for recommended repairs and upgrades will be provided for future consideration.

I conducted a thorough electrical inspection, meticulously examining all circuits, outlets, and fixtures. During the inspection, I identified a smoke detector not mounted on the ceiling and advised the customer on its proper placement for optimal safety. Additionally, I discussed the benefits of installing a surge protector to safeguard their electronics. Although the customer was not interested at the moment, I provided detailed information and assured them they could contact us when ready.

During the heat pump tune-up, I inspected the outdoor unit, finding low refrigerant pressures and washing it. I verified internal component operation and tested the system in cooling mode, confirming a refrigerant leak in the evaporator coil. I discussed repair options and the benefits of replacing the system. I checked the temperature split, inspected the condensate drainage, replaced the air filter, and cleaned the blower wheel. I also recommended insulating the P-trap and addressing biological growth and a non-functioning UV light. The system operated in both modes but performed below optimal due to the low refrigerant level.

During the super tuneup, I thoroughly inspected the customer's entire system and identified an issue with the compressor, which was drawing unusually high amps. This discovery prompted a discussion with the customer, who opted to enhance the system's efficiency and quietness by adding a soft start device. Post-installation, the startup amps significantly decreased from 170 to 23, ensuring smoother operation. The system now maintains a stable 20° temperature split, contributing to optimal performance and longevity. Thank you for choosing our services.

Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough inspection of the electrical system to address the reported issue with the non-functional plug. After a detailed examination, I identified the root cause as a faulty switch. With the customer's consent, I replaced the defective switch with a new one. The process was swift and efficient, ensuring minimal disruption. Post-replacement, I conducted a series of tests to confirm the functionality of the new switch and the restored plug. The customer was pleased with the quick resolution and the restored functionality, expressing satisfaction with the service provided.

I conducted a comprehensive super tune-up on the gas furnace system, meticulously examining all mechanical and electrical components to ensure optimal efficiency. I inspected the burners, heat exchanger, and air flow pathways, ensuring everything was functioning correctly. Additionally, I evaluated the thermostat settings and control board for proper operation. Although I recommended a blower clean and flame sensor cleaning for enhanced performance, the customer opted not to proceed with these services. I also suggested adding a compressor saver to prolong the compressor's lifespan. Thank you for choosing our services; we appreciate your trust in us.

I conducted a thorough evaluation of both HVAC systems after concerns were raised during a buyer’s inspection. The reported issues included a potential compressor problem on one system and a possible refrigerant leak at the TXV thermostatic expansion valve on the indoor unit of the other system. Using an electronic refrigerant leak detector, I inspected both systems and found no leaks at the evaporator coils. I connected refrigerant gauges to verify that operating pressures were within the expected range. Both compressors showed elevated amperage draw during startup. After discussing options with the homeowner, we decided to install new hard-start kits on both outdoor units to ease compressor startup. Post-installation, both systems were tested and confirmed to be operating correctly, with a 20°F temperature differential. Additionally, I cleared the condensate drain lines and cleaned the air filters.

I conducted an indoor air quality (IAQ) assessment and provided an estimate for the homeowner. The primary concern was the dryer vent, which required thorough cleaning. I offered a Level 1 cleaning service that specifically addressed the dryer vent, ensuring it was free of lint and debris. This service included a detailed inspection and cleaning of the vent from the dryer to the exterior outlet. The homeowner expressed interest and will discuss the estimate with their spouse, considering the possibility of financing before making a decision.

I contacted the customer but did not receive an answer, so I left a voicemail explaining the issue with the inverter connecting to the Wi-Fi or potential electrical problems inside the house. Due to company restrictions, I am unable to perform the work and must rely on Brian. I am currently coordinating with Brian to understand the progress and ensure the issue is resolved efficiently.

During the project, I engaged in a detailed discussion with the couple to understand their evolving needs. Initially, they had a specific vision, but as we progressed, it became clear that their requirements had expanded. I paused the work to facilitate a thorough conversation, allowing them to express their additional needs and preferences. This pause ensured that we aligned on the final scope, leading to a more comprehensive and satisfactory outcome.

I visited the house to inspect a solar system recently acquired by the customer. The system included three sewn-in batteries, a large transfer switch box, and 30 solar panels on the roof. The customer was concerned about the system's functionality and wanted a thorough assessment. I checked the system and confirmed that all batteries were receiving power, but I couldn't locate the inverter. After some investigation, I found the sewn-in batteries but needed an internet connection to access detailed information. I explained the basics to the customer but couldn't fully demonstrate the system's operation. The customer requested our boss to assess the system, but after discussing the costs, they decided against it.

Upon arrival, I inspected the flower bed and located the pressure relief valve (PRV). After adjusting the pressure to 67 PSI, I identified that the customer's lake at the meter on the city side might be causing an issue. While the water was turned off, I noticed water still entering the underground box where the PRV is situated. I recommended that the city inspect and fix any leaks at the meter and ensure there are no leaks on their side of the street. Additionally, the customer requested an electrician to examine the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outside.

Upon arriving at the customer's residence, it was clear that there was a misunderstanding about our services. The customer believed we provided temporary Christmas lighting, which is not typically our area of expertise. After discussing the situation with Brian and Mark, we clarified our usual offerings but explained that we could accommodate this request if desired. We emphasized that there are specialized companies better suited for such tasks. The customer appreciated the information and decided to contact another company. However, he acknowledged being new to the area and expressed a likelihood of using our services in the future. We provided him with a package containing all our contact information.

I visited to provide an electrical estimate for a customer planning extensive kitchen renovations. I presented multiple quotes, detailing the options for running two or three circuits. The third circuit included additional wall plugs as per the customer's request. I explained the benefits of each option and advised them to contact us once they were ready to proceed, either after the wall demolition or when they felt prepared. This ensured they had all necessary information to make an informed decision.

Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough evaluation after the homeowner reported a burnt smell without a tripped breaker. After turning on the breakers, I found one turned off at the air handler. Upon resetting it, I tested both heating and cooling functions, finding no significant issues. Despite the smell, the HVAC unit appeared normal. However, to ensure safety, I recommended an electrician for a comprehensive inspection to rule out any electrical hazards. This proactive approach ensures peace of mind and safety. Thank you for choosing our services.

Upon arrival, I assessed the customer's water heater, which was not functioning. After a thorough investigation, I successfully lit the water heater, ensuring it was operational. The customer mentioned they are preparing to relocate and do not wish to invest in major upgrades. While the water heater issue was resolved, the customer still requires an AC technician to inspect their system. I provided guidance on the next steps and ensured the customer understood the current status of their home systems.

I conducted a thorough evaluation of the system and discovered a significant issue with the evaporator coil, which was leaking due to age and internal corrosion. This leak was exacerbated by high refrigerant pressure, causing the system to frequently trigger its low-pressure switch. After discussing the findings with the homeowner, they opted for a custom system upgrade. A comfort advisor has been scheduled to visit between 3 and 5 PM on Saturday to discuss potential improvements.

I successfully replaced the shower cartridge, ensuring no corrosion or visible damage was present. The previous handyman had neglected to secure the screw in the old cartridge, leading to constant running and leaks. After careful removal of the damaged cartridge, I installed a new one, ensuring it was properly secured. The shower now operates smoothly without any leaks.
