The Importance of a Well-Functioning Air Conditioner
Your home should be a sanctuary where you can find comfort and relaxation. A properly working air conditioner ensures that your indoor environment remains cool and pleasant, even when the temperature soars outside. Aside from the obvious comfort factor, a well-functioning AC unit also helps improve indoor air quality, prevents heat-related illnesses, and protects your valuable furniture and electronics from heat damage. And when you need to replace your old heating and cooling system, we'll be there to walk you through the process with options that fit you budget.
Signs of a Failing Air Conditioning System
If you recognize these signs early, it can save you from a complete system breakdown.
- Unusual Noises -Â If your air conditioner suddenly starts making strange noises, like rattling, grinding, or squealing, it's a clear sign that something is amiss. Unusual sounds often indicate loose or worn-out components that need immediate attention.
- Weak Airflow -Â Is your AC blowing weak or barely cool air? Poor airflow might be caused by clogged air filters, ductwork issues, or a failing compressor.
- Frequent Cycling -Â Does your AC turn on and off frequently? This short cycling not only hinders your comfort but also increases energy consumption, leading to higher utility bills.
- Escalating Energy Bills -Â Speaking of utility bills, a sudden surge in energy costs without any other explanation could be attributed to an inefficient air conditioning system.
- Uneven Cooling-Â Are some rooms in your house significantly cooler than others? Inconsistent cooling indicates possible ductwork problems or imbalances in your AC system.

The cost to replace a Central AC unit in Arlington, TX will be between $5,000 – $12,000 on average.
Here are some factors that can affect the cost of replacing an AC unit:
- Unit size and type:Â Larger units and higher-efficiency models (measured in SEER rating) generally cost more.
- Brand and warranty:Â Premium brands and longer warranties can increase the price.
- Labor costs:Â Rates vary by company and complexity of the installation.
- Ductwork and electrical work: If additional modifications are need, it will add to the overall cost.
- The size of your home: A larger home will require a larger AC unit, which will be more expensive.
- The type of system: Whether your looking to install a ductless mini split, gas or electric central air conditioning system will determine your overall cost.
To determine if your Arlington water heater needs to be repaired or replaced check the following signs include:
- Low water pressure:Â If you notice that your hot water pressure is lower than usual, it is a sign that your water heater may not be working properly. This can be caused by a variety of things, including a faulty thermostat, a clogged sediment trap, or a buildup of sediment in the tank.
- No hot water:Â If you don't have any hot water at all, it is a sign that your water heater has a serious problem. This could be caused by a number of things, including a blown fuse, a tripped circuit breaker, or a faulty water heater.
- Age:Â Water heaters typically last between 8 and 12 years. If your water heater is older than 10 years, it is likely time to start thinking about replacing it.
- Leaks:Â If you see any water leaking from your water heater, it is a sign that there is a problem. Leaks can be caused by a variety of things, including a faulty tank, a loose fitting, or a crack in the piping.

Try some of these DIY methods to clear minor drain clogs in your Arlington area home:

- PlungerÂ
- Salt and Hot Water
- Plumbing Snake or Wire Hanger
While chemical drain cleaners are an option, use them with caution, as they can be harsh on pipes and may pose safety risks.
No you should not try to perform electrical repairs yourself unless you have some type of formal electrical training and certification. Performing electrical repairs without proper knowledge and experience can be dangerous. It's best to hire a licensed local Arlington electrician for any electrical work to ensure safety and compliance with electrical codes.
If you have safety or increased power demands and your Arlington home was built more than 25 years ago, you should consider upgrading your electrical panel.
Here are some key signs to watch for:
- Outdated panels may lack modern safety features like circuit breakers that trip quickly to prevent overheating and fire risks. Newer panels offer enhanced safety mechanisms.
- If your house has aluminum wiring it can deteriorate and pose fire risks. Upgrading to a panel compatible with copper wiring.
- If circuits are constantly tripping due to overloaded appliances, it indicates insufficient capacity.
- Modern appliances like high-end refrigerators, electric vehicles, and hot tubs draw significantly more power. Your current panel might not be equipped to handle their combined load.
Even without immediate needs, upgrading to a panel with higher amperage (e.g., 200 amp) prepares your home for future electrical demands, like additional appliances or potential solar panel installations.

Locked rotor 04 error code changed out hard start
For this evaluation I should have to the customer's home as a call back, system was not running since Saturday the 7th. Based off the previous notes I came in with the assumption that the drain line was clogged and after pouring a gallon of water down the line was slow to drain and that could be one of the reasons why the system was not running. When I jumped R&Y only the blower kicked on, and I did not have 24V at the condenser field wiring. I jumped R,Y,O,and G and the system kicked on and started cooling meaning the thermostat has gone bad. I talked to the customer about what I found and showed him that when I wire nutted all those wires together the system started cooling. Customer will buy his own thermostat and if he has questions he will call or request I come back out to install it for him. I signed the customer up on a membership program as well as clear the drain line, and poured a gallon to follow up and it drained with no issues. Upon leaving the system was cooling and blow
For this evaluation I showed up to the customer's home and stated the system was not blowing cold air when it was set to cool. Since the system was running and blowing air I started outside engaged up where I had a 420PSI on the high side. The plug for the reversing valve had come off, so I reattached it and zip tied it on. The condenser was extremely dirty which is why I had such a high pressure on the high side. I talked to the customer and he allowed me to clean off the coil. I left with the system cooling and blowing out at 64° upon departure.
Showed up for an evaluation a possible 45 The situation stands as it was yesterday that the unit is not running due to a clogged drain line and the safety switch removing power the customer does not want to let us unclog the drain line he also got an attitude and began to use profanity followed by slamming the door shut no repairs were made and service fee applies due to the homeowners demeanor I was unable to get any signatures The office will have to process payment for this call
Came out for a cooling tuna checked everything indoor and out found a severely restricted filter clogged drain line compromised ductwork due to animals/rodents and restricted outdoor coils recommending two duct repairs unclogging the drain line and disassembling the outdoor unit for a thorough cleaning with chemicals
# customer cancel
#customer canceled membership
Came out for an evaluation nightline was clogged and tripping the safety switch causing the unit not to run also found a very restricted filter that caused the coils to freeze up unclog the drain line install the pan strip to get them through the next 6 months and change their filter for them explained that they need to leave the unit off and the fan running for 3 to 4 hours to thaw the coils out before they kick it back on discussed options for an April air filter left estimate and profile
This system had a short due to the old thermostat. After adding a new thermostat the system is now back online and cooling. I recommend system replacement for alot of reasons but he's not ready to do that yet.
