1 year old unit. Heat pump with air handler. Hard start kit installed. Air flow and refrigerant levels are acceptable.
Thoroughly performed a super tune up for both split systems, washed condenser coils out and checked components. Master- refrigerant levels are fine, dual run good, compressor amps within specs, contactor a little burned, blower motor hood, biological growth inside the air handler and there is no drain safety but everything else functioning properly at this time. Main- refrigerant levels are okay, compressor amps rising, contactor burned up, dual run within specs, evaporator coil is extremely rusted up, no drain safety, flame sensor is burned up and falling apart, gas line is out of code and the system is R22. Due to the age and condition of the system, recommended upgrading to something a lot more efficient with warranties behind it before trying to patch a system of this age. Customer is meeting with an advisor tomorrow at 10am.
Completed evaluation. Flex duct underneath home had water inside the insulated portion of duct, no water inside duct system though. Drained water and rehung duct to get it off the ground. Also thoroughly cleaned outdoor condenser coil. System running in cooling on departure. Did not find any issues with unit functionality. Homeowner was not present. Pausing job to collect signature and payment.
Upon arrival customer stated that another company installed unit. They were told tgat the system was low and it just needed to be charged. I quoted customer a price for refigerant and customer denied and stated they will seek out any warranty that may be available. System is down
