HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical Service FAQs
There could be several reasons why your Grandbury TX air conditioner might be running but not cooling your home.
Here are some simple DIY things you can check before calling a HVAC company to help:
- Check if your thermostat is set to "cool" and at the desired temperature and ensure the "fan" setting is on "auto" rather than "on" to avoid just circulating warm air.
- A clogged air filter restricts airflow and makes your AC work harder. Check and replace it if necessary.
- Clear any debris, such as leaves or dirt, from around the outdoor AC condenser unit to ensure proper airflow.
Some more complex issues include:
- Low refrigerant levels can prevent the AC from cooling effectively. This requires professional attention.
- Dust and grime on the evaporator or condenser coils can impede heating and cooling transfer.
- Blocked ducts, leaky ductwork, or closed vents can hinder cool air distribution.
- A malfunctioning compressor is a major issue and requires professional repair.
- Faulty wiring, a tripped circuit breaker, or a blown fuse can disrupt the electrical flow to your AC unit, causing cooling issues.
- A clogged condensate drain can cause water to back up and affect the cooling process.
The decsion to repair or replace your HVAC unit in Grandbury will depend on several things that include:
- The Age of your HVAC unit: If the unit is older and experiencing frequent repair issues, it might be more sensible to invest in a new, energy-efficient system.
- The cost of the repair: If the repair costs are significantly high and close to or exceed the cost of a new unit, replacement might be a more economical choice.
- Energy Efficiency: Upgrading to a newer, more efficient model can lead to long-term energy savings, which may justify the initial investment.
Contacting a qualified HVAC company can help you make an informed decision about whether to repair or replace your air conditioner.
In Granbury, TX, hourly rates for plumbers could range anywhere from $50 to $150 or more. For emergeny plumbing services some companies may charge more per hour.
Average plumber repair service costs range from $180 to $2,000 depending on the service type that you get.
Upgrading your electrical panel in your Grandbury home might be necessary for several reasons, ranging from safety concerns to increased power demands.
Here are some common reasons to upgrade:
- Older homes may have electrical panels with lower amp capacities or outdated technology. Upgrading to a modern panel improves safety and reliability.
- If you are adding new appliances, a home addition, or significant electrical devices, the demand on your electrical system may exceed the capacity of your current panel.
- If your circuit breakers trip frequently, it could indicate that your electrical panel is struggling to handle the load.
- If you're adding smart home technology or home automation systems, an upgraded electrical panel may be necessary to handle the increased electrical demands of these systems.

2014 5t carrier hp. Condenser fan motor leaking oil, contactor very loud. Isolated the fan motor over the compressor and verified the noise. Homeowner purchased the contactor, Condenser fan motor, and membership to have the benefits thereof. Hunter G will come back 10/4/24 to install Condenser motor and contactor. I did not have the appropriate motor type on my truck. Confirmed rec work schedule with Jennifer. System operational but compromised fan motor and contactor. I discussed refrigerant formula patents and parts availability in the near future with homeowner due to age of the unit. Hunter will acquire motor in the morning of 10/4/24 at the Weatherford morning meeting. So technically it's 'holding for parts'.

2020 3t revolv electric upflow closet. Manufacturers warranty expired. Homeowner was not home, neighbor Mrs.Harper was in her place. Homeowner is a widow and very elderly. Harper relayed to me where everything was and shared with me that the evaporator coil is freezing over. My diagnosis discovered- Filter replaced. Evaporator coil intake side was heavily blocked -brushed off as much as I possibly could to increase proper airflow. Leaks were detected in the evaporator coil. Washed condenser coils. Refrigerant guages confirmed leak detection. After a heart felt conversation with the neighbor and the homeowner, I worked within the budget to at least put some Refrigerant in the system. Homeowner understands it's very temporary and I cannot warranty my work. System is functional. Updated proper email address for neighbor due to the mental stability of homeowner per request.
