System down upon arrival. 2015 16 SEER 4 ton goodman straight electric. No voltage to the condenser unit, found a tripped 50amp breaker in main breaker panel. Tripped multiple times upon reset. OHMd the compressor and discovered a short to ground. Disconnect left off. Discussed the issues found and the availabile options on a repair vs replace/upgrade with the lady of the home, got the husband on the phone (truck driver) and set a CA appointment for 10/5/23 @10am so the husband can be present. My best friends direct neighbor, referred from the Bates family.

2.5 ton gas furnace 20+ years old. R22 refrigerant is low. Outdoor unit gets hit hard with cotton wood and had to spend a lot of time removing off the condenser, with a history of this blockage of heat rejection the compressor is struggling. The tstat doesn't get below 78. Original furnace and Blower, the evaporator coil is newer. Customer is open to talking to a CA to see about wither replacing the entire system or just the condenser unit. Evaporator coil should be fine to convert per data tag to 410a, I advised against it due to the age of the heat exchanger. CA appointment 8/18/23 @10am.

Tech arrived at a service call. Upon inspection the outside system was not running. The refrigerant was tested and the gauges were reading 0 pressure in the system. The customer mentioned that she has had to add refrigerant before. She had a coupon for 1 pound of refrigerant at a discount. The customer did not wish to move forward with adding refrigerant today. The customer was informed of recommendations today. Due to condition, age, and price of repairs; it is recommended that the customer speak with a Comfort Advisor about upgrading to something more reliable with warranties behind it. The customer agrees and will speak with a family about help with replacement costs. The customer will call us back for financing options at a later time.
