Customer said he wasn't ready to replace his unit but allowed me to give him a quote. Quoted level 3 48k heat pump closet upflow for $16,852
For this cooling to know if I inspected the air handler and condenser, for the most part all equipment was measuring within manufacturer specs. The temperature differential from the return to supply was only 13° and the customer stated when they set the thermostat to 73⁰ or lower the house never reaches that temperature and the system runs non stop. The air handler is full of Bio growth which is a health concern for the homeowners. I talked to them about a UV system as a way to sanitize the air and kill any biologics that come into contact with it before they breathe in it. When I gauged up I had a 45° superheat and a 12° sub cool for a TXV indicating that TXV has become restricted and is not metering refrigerant appropriately. This is causing the 13° delta and not cooling the house efficiently. I talked to them about the price of a TXV replacement and how my overall recommendation would be system replacement as their machine is over 10 years old it was the number of problems it has wo
Arrived for cooling tune up Washed condensor and tightened connections Replaced filter Refrigerant is good 20 Delta Replaced parts warranty Capacitor Installed drain treatment strip Recommended IAQ 200 UV system System left on cool at exit
Upon arrival indoor was running but not cooling, after evaluation found that Primary electrical unit had failed. Replaced Primary electrical unit and made sure all electrical high and low voltage were tight on furnace and Condenser. System is running as should found no issues when system runs. If problem occurs again senior tech will come out PER MARK W.
Arrived to no cool. Primary electrical control was replaced yesterday and it failed shortly after the technician left. Replaced the primary electrical control again and tried to find a reason for the failure. Low voltage is acceptable. High voltage is acceptable. Compressor is not over amping. Compressor ohmed out and was acceptable. Refrigerant levels are in range. Tightened all electrical connections and grounds. Could not find a reason for the failure. Recall on me.
Arrived to no cool. Discovered that the primary electrical control had failed and was preventing the outdoor unit to turn on. Replaced the primary electrical control under P&L warranty. Performed a function check of the system. System running normally at time of departure.
Replaced the TXV thoroughly cleaned the condensing coils by disassembling the unit and vacuuming the leaves and dirt out of the inside and then using the water hose from the inside out installed compressor saver kit got everything up and running 10° sub cool 15° superheat 20° Delta
System was going off on High pressure The coil outside was really dirty, cleaned the coil and the system came on. Ran for 10 mins to settle sh 6.6 sc 6.6 System cooling before I left
For this evaluation I showed up to the customers house and she stated her AC had stopped working last night and the wet switch was ticking. The return area was wet and the wet switch was tripped. I tried resetting it but it didn't work. I poured a gallon of water into the secondary drain line and the primary was slow to drain, however when I poured it into the p-trap vent stack it drained fine. The customers primary drain line had a clog in the PVC and there was a clog in the house plumbing where the primary sat as well. The water from the house plumbing spilled over into the return and tripped the wet switch, shutting off power to the unit. I spoke with the customer about calling a plumber for the house plumbing issue and primary drain clog. She allowed me to clear the primary, however she reached out to her home warranty to have a plumber come out.
Arrived for free second opinion Compressor fake was diagnosed by previous company Confirmed diagnosis Comfort Advisor next week on the 20th at 9 while he collects other quotes
On arrival house plumbing clogged. Once cleared system ran with no issues. Tested with a gallon of water.
For this evaluation I showed up to the customer's home they stated their AC was only blowing hot air. At the condenser the fan was running however I could hear the compressor trying to turn on but not running. I checked the capacitor and the hermetic side was basically flat, so I replaced it with a new one and everything kicked on like it should. Upon leaving it was blowing out at 60°.
Performed system evaluation Frozen indoor coil and lines Heat pump - thawed lines Performed leaked search - no leak in indoor Leak found on bottom of outdoor coil Unable to test refrigerant levels due to instant freeze Recommended system replacement Comfort advisor scheduled Tuesday 9-12 am System condenser left on off - indoor on air circulation
Arrived for rec work Installed new eval coil and filter dryer System running before I left
Could not replicate noise, asked customer if it would be possible to get the noise recorded and hold off till the slow season as we are in peak demand and need to get to customers that are without cooling
Arrived for eval Customer stated the system wasn’t cooling by Ran test and added a little refrigerant to see if pressure changed Confirmed that there is a leak in the indoor coil. Related information to customer Customer would like to go ahead and do coil and a filter too Holding for parts
Customer States the unit makes a loud rumbling noise before it starts up, but not a metal on metal sound. I tested the unit in heating and cooling modes but could not replicate the same sound he was hearing. I tightened all the screws I could see, upon leaving the system was running fine.
Cody B. completed annual ac tuneup.
Techs Cody and Mark arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. At the inside unit, the temp split was a good 22 degrees, the blower was clean, the coil was clean, both plenums were sealed and clean, the drain was clear and had a drain switch. Outdoors we washed the unit and waxed it, the compressor and fan motor were operating within manufacturer range, and the refrigerant charge was correct. I made the homeowner aware of the benefits of a compressor saver, antimicrobial pan treatment, and a IAQ 200 UVV light which she declined at this time.
This system is r22 the blower motor is stuck on and does shut off. The compressor wires have exploded.. I would recommend system replacement.
On this job the system had an L6 error code. After replacing the cap the system started right up. The system is now back online and cooling.
Arrived for STU All componets were working and in tolerance beside cap Replaced cap under warranty Recommend IAQ 200, coil clean, blower clean, duct clean, insulation, compressor saver, and membership upgrade Filter size 310 April air
Ran small hand auger through drain pipe for ac system in hall closet cleared stoppage. Poured a gallon of water through drain did not backup.
