Removed and replaced evap coil for downstairs unit also noticed the compressor for the downstairs unit is overamping upon startup so I spoke with the homeowner and they agreed to install a compressor saver kit this unit will help prolong the life expectancy of the unit

Returned and installed capicator compressor saver and April aire upgrade. Also sealed substantial airflow gaps in system. Comfort advisor visit today is for insulation ductwork and or duct cleaning.

I arrived and inspected the insulation, ductwork, and system. Customer complained of an attic smell from supply vents. Found dust bypassing current filter and air flow gaps in the system that are pulling in attic air. Ductwork is attached to the plenums but would benefit from replacement. Coil is clean and drain lines run properly. Insulation is low and degraded, strongly recommend new insulation. Outdoor units capicator is out of tolerance and the compressor is overamping on start up. I scheduled a comfort advisor visit for next Friday from 3-5 for ductwork and insulation. I recommended upgrading to an April aire filter, sealing the airflow gaps in the indoor unit and replacing the dual run capicator and adding a compressor saver kit to address the compressor overamping on start up.

On arrival system was off, customer stated that whole machine was frozen. Found severely restricted blower wheel and was able to remove half of the restriction by hand, but back side of blower still clogged. Coil dirty and rusted. Found 30 degree superheat but low side saturated temp was 40. Unable to fully diagnose refridgerant due to airflow and cleanliness issues. Advised that I would recommend replacement of system due to age and condition of system in addition to the upcoming refridgerant change. Will call back to do a financing pre-approval later in the week.

On arrival system was running and cooling producing a 20 degree delta. Indoor unit was clean and the drain lines flowed when flushed. Significant biological growth in supply plenum. Outdoor unit passed all electrical testing but was overamping on start up. When I left system was running and cooling.

Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. I started inside, the coil was clean, the blower was clean,the UV light was good, the homeowner did not have a filter for me ro replace. Outside the compressor and fan motor were operating within manufacturer range. The capacitor was within tolerance. I washed and waxed the unit. I shared my findings with the homeowner and the system was cooling when I left.

06/10/24 TS- no immediate issues. Fixed master bathroom sink drain plug hinge, came undone. Outside frost proof hose didn't leak and was OK. Water year model is either 2000 or 2020. If it's 2000 then that would make it 24 years old and needs to be replaced. T&P valve line was hot and could be and indicator that the waterheater needs to be replaced.

Ryan was on time, professional, friendly, and explained the issue clearly and politely. He replaced the broken part quickly, and was even sweet to my dogs. Company was quick and easy to get a hold of and schedule an appointment within 12 hours. Note: the after hours scheduling person indicated they could come to us as early as 8, but the daytime scheduling person who called to confirm the appointment indicated the earliest they could make it was 10. Not a major issue, just a communication error which they agreed to work on. Would call them again, if needed.
