Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowners. System is a 10 year old straight electric Goodman system. When I arrived the system was barely cooling and the indoor coil was freezing up. I noticed oil residue on the condenser coil and conducted a courtesy leak search for a leak point. Mr. Rodriguez was with my outside and saw me get confirmation of a leak on the condenser coil. We shared the findings of the evaluation with Mrs. Rodriguez and I gave them an estimate for replacing the coil and recommended they talk with a comfort advisor about replacing the system with something more efficient and to get a fresh set of warranties. I also informed them of the upcoming changes to the AC industry starting next year.

Customer requested a price for a duct cleaning o. A two system home. Both systems installed 5 years ago. Definite build up starting to form on most of the return and supply ducts. Evaporator coils and blower wheels have been cleaned recently. Gave estimate for two system level 1 duct cleaning and also gave estimates for indoor air quality and air filtration.
Install 12" duct and new plenum
Gave estimates on repairs around land
Upon arrival found that coil was heavily compacted with dust and dirt. Blower was acceptable, duct work has slight dust levels. Return air has a lot of air leaks and that air is not getting filter causing high dust levels

CTU completed, upon arrival everything was working and operating, tstat was operating system correctly. After connecting my gauges to the system I found a high super heat and a low subcool on the system, indicating low on charge. System is R22 Performed complimentary leak test and located leak in evaporator coil. System runs and has good secure electrical connections, capacitor are within manufacturer range, filter has recently been changed. Primary electrical control operating correctly. Left cst with recommend repairs, she is going to contact HW company before beginning repairs Need to follow up
Cooling tune up performed today. All electrical connections are tight with no corrosion. PSC blower motor and capacitor are acceptable. Blower wheel and evaporator coil are clean. Customer did not have a filter to change out. Compressor and condenser fan motor are acceptable. Refrigerant levels are in range. Outdoor unit was washed and waxed. A compressor saver is recommended to help with the start up of the compressor and help it run more efficiently.
I quoted a level 1 36k gas closet upflow minus 5% plus code kit for $9455. Customer stated he needs to work out something with the charges from another company that messed his system up before he can commit to purchasing a new system from us. Customer was pre approved through goodleap for $25000
Heat pump repair. Arrived to no cool on 14 year anniversary of carrier heat pump with air handler. Condenser fan motor and primary electrical control had failed. Replaced the condenser fan motor and primary electrical control and 7.5mfd capacitor and performed function check. System was running and operating upon departure. Meg ohm tested the compressor and it is showing as weak electrical windings most likely due to heat damage. Several ducts in the attic are worn and the insulation is peeling off. With no insulation on the ductwork the air in the ducts is warming up quickly due to the high temps in the attic. Highly suggest repairing or replacing the duct work and upgrading the system soon.
Gas furnace installed in 1999 with straight cool condenser installed in 2012 and evaporator coil installed last year. R-22 system. Serious airflow issue is causing the compressor to get very hot and is pulling high amps. Piston metering device out subcooling at 7 degrees constant and superheat is fluctuating from 7 degrees to -.5 degrees. Blower wheel is off balance and is causing the airflow to fluctuate. The blower wheel balance issue has caused the blower motor to shake and has damaged it. Discussed repairs needed and customer would like to speak to a comfort advisor first before deciding weather to repair or replace the system.
