Not accurate work performed
I wasn’t going to share my opinion from Hobson Air Conditioning Inc. also known as Comfort Experts because there seems to be lack of communication skills with the technician and office staff.
When I called to request service I was told there would be a $199 fee for them to come out today due to the Holiday. And that I would need to pay this plus any additional fees at the end of my service.
After I received the text message that tech was heading my way. I began receiving calls and text saying I needed to pay to secure my appointment. I had at least 5 text and two voicemails regarding this. After reaching out to the office and no one answered I replied to a text. Saying I wasn’t informed of this. And an apology was offered to me via text, and said I could pay the technician.
Gabriel Peterson, was the technician and he urged me to do a Google review because it was the most popular one to do and to make sure to provide his name and details.
He arrived quickly and was respectful of my property. Even though he asked to use my bathroom, and did. Which I think was very unprofessional.
He evaluated the situation and said the safety switch drain was full of water so he cleared the water. He said this would be a better option before seeing if the drain was clogged. He also said I could have accidentally moved the switch when I changed the filter and that made the water overflow. The thermostat came back on once he did this. He also checked the inside and outside unit, upon my request. He kept trying to sale me some bands to prevent water spillage even though he hadn’t actually did anything
About 4 hours later the unit stopped working again, same issue. When he arrived he made it seem as though I had refused service earlier of unclogging the unit. I told him I hadn’t refused the service and then he said that wasn’t what he meant. He had those same bands he was trying to sell me earlier in his pocket. And asked again, if I wanted to purchase them.
I paid $300.00 on the first visit both were for service fees of $199 an emergency fee they called it and an additional $99 service fee. On the second visit he said to unclog the drain it would be $500 plus dollars plus another service fee. So when I questioned the $300 I had just paid them a few hours ago and he didn’t fix the issue. Why would it cost be $500 plus dollars more? He said he would waive the service fee. I wouldn’t have thought you would charge me another service fee for something you didn’t fix hours go.
I called the office to request a manager call me because I asked Gabriel to contact a manger and he didn’t do that until later. No manger returned the call because he was able to get someone on the phone. And nothing was resolved by speaking with her.
Gabriel forgot to mention to me after he was about to start on unclogging the drain that I needed to sign a waiver. That they wouldn’t be responsible for any water damage. When I asked him why hadn’t he told me about this before agreeing to have the work done. He kinda got defensive, and said he forgot.
But he forgot to tell me about signing the waivers upon his first visit also. The work was done and then he asked me to sign to waivers.
On my invoice he states he realized he had not informed me that a drain waiver form would be needed. I declined the recommendation and requested him to leave my property. No repairs were performed and the issue remains unresolved. The customer was informed of the required documentation before any work began and ultimately declined the recommended service.
I declined because I felt he wasn’t honest. And he was trying to push those bands and of course sign up for a membership. He didn’t do anything for $300.00 it doesn’t make sense that I would I give them another $500 plus dollars.
If I had problems on the first visit and they had to dispatch him out again the same day for the same problem. It tells me you are not experienced enough and I do not want you working on my unit. My Trane unit is barely 6 years old and he was acting like he had to do so much extra work to unclog the drain. That was another reason I didn’t want him working on my unit.

This company responded immediately to an emergency need, will always appreciate this !
Hobson Comfort Experts of Ft Worth TX, what a pleasure, to have done my homework in the decision process of finding the best overall AC HVAC company to install a complete new AC HVAC system in my 65 year old home in FT Worth TX. Completed in 2021. Texas having unbearable summer heat, this necessity entails a tremendous amount of thought and research to make the decision process on the company to contract , as a commitment that should carry through time.
This week, proved, that 5 years ago I made the correct decision.
Complications of course can occur to just about everything, involving moving working parts; troubleshooting, and experience especially, is imperative in working through any and all unpredictable complications, when I rang the bell on this being a emergency of sorts, in what was going to be a somewhat complicated troubleshoot of a condensation water issue, that was a bit complex and needed some complex troubleshooting in a tight environment, Hobson Comfort Air, along with many staff employees including Kristi , with communication and Alonso, and Manager Ryan Schmuhl, fully recognized the complication, reacting superbly with a rapid fix with excellent communication skills, along with skilled abilities to get their way around a bit of complications with the fix,
I realized I did make the right decision 5 years ago by contracting Hobson Comfort Air of Ft Worth, TX. to place this new system in a now 70 year old home
The critical thinking, the recognization of the emergency ( due to absolute need of AC in the summer heat of central Texas, repairing this somewhat difficult condensation water issue was immediately addressed. Thank you to all involved ,

Ian was a true blessing today! Im a New homeowner and only been in my home since April. So it was a huge surprise that i was having issues with my toilet backing up into my tub! Recently I had a great referral from Angies list and decided to do the same to find a plumber. Comfort experts were the first to call and Rebecca was extremely helpful in setting appointment. Within the hour I had a knock on my door and was greeted by Ian and his personable smile! Although I was hesitant to proceed after the quote Ian assured me that he was knowledgeable and his integrity spoke volumes! He treated me like a human being first and customer second which confirmed I made the right choice in moving forward with him completing the repair. Furthermore, Ian kept me informed with exactly what he was doing and completed the job in under an hour. In speaking to him I found out he was a Veteran which further explains why I absolutely love this guy! Ian you ROCK and I really appreciate you!

Today, I returned to install a new soft start for the Amana system that services the middle apartment. This involved diagnosing the existing system to ensure compatibility with the new component. I carefully removed the old soft start and replaced it with the new one, making sure all connections were secure and properly insulated. The installation was completed efficiently to minimize disruption. Additionally, I tested the system to confirm that the new soft start was functioning correctly and that the overall system performance was optimal. This meticulous approach ensures the longevity and reliability of the system.

I performed a comprehensive tune-up on the HVAC system, starting with a thorough inspection of the outdoor coil, which I cleaned to ensure optimal performance. I checked all electrical components and verified the refrigerant levels, ensuring they were within the correct range. The temperature differential (Delta) was measured at 22°, indicating efficient operation. The indoor air filter was found to be in need of immediate replacement, so I removed it and informed the homeowner, who agreed to have it changed promptly. Additionally, I discovered a clog in the drain line that had caused water to accumulate in the pan. I cleared the clog, removed the water, and installed a paint strip in the primary pan for future monitoring. I also recommended a duct cleaning and a germicidal unit to maintain cleanliness and prevent biological growth. The system is now functioning properly and cooling effectively.

I visited the customer to provide a quote for adding a plug on the wall in the hallway for decorations. We discussed various installation methods, and the customer preferred a method that avoided cutting holes. However, I explained that this would require running extra wire. I presented a quote for this alternative method, which the customer appreciated. They decided not to proceed immediately but expressed interest in contacting us when they were ready to move forward. Throughout the consultation, I ensured the customer understood the pros and cons of each method and provided clear, detailed information to help them make an informed decision.

Upon receiving the call, I promptly assessed the issue with the hot water line. Upon inspection, it was clear that a leak was present. Using a pro press coupling, I carefully repaired the waterline, ensuring a secure and leak-free connection. After completing the repair, I thoroughly checked the area for any signs of leaks, and the pipe remained dry, indicating a successful repair. I informed the customer that the washer shut off is now 4 inches shorter, a consequence of the repair, and reassured them that the issue has been resolved. The customer expressed satisfaction with the work performed.

Upon arrival, I identified a clogged drain line as the primary issue. Using specialized tools and techniques, I successfully unclogged the line, ensuring proper drainage. To prevent future clogs, I offered a comprehensive duct cleaning service, which the customer appreciated but chose not to proceed with at this time. Additionally, I recommended installing a float switch to monitor water levels and prevent future clogs, although the customer opted to decline this suggestion for now. After resolving the clog, I observed a 16-degree temperature differential once the system kicked on, indicating efficient operation. Thank you for choosing Comfort Experts. Have a great day.

Upon arrival, we identified a significant blockage in the drain line, which was impeding the system's functionality. Our team promptly assessed the situation and initiated the process of clearing the clog. Using specialized tools and techniques, we carefully removed the obstruction, ensuring that the drain line was fully restored to its optimal condition. Following the successful clearance, we conducted a thorough inspection to confirm that the system was operating efficiently. The job was completed to the client's satisfaction, and the system is now fully functional.

During the cooling tune-up, I achieved an optimal 18-degree temperature split, ensuring efficient system performance. Although a replacement filter was not provided, I thoroughly cleaned the condenser to maintain peak functionality. I also recommended cleaning the drain switch and condensate cleanout valve to prevent water damage from clogs. To enhance indoor air quality, I provided an IAQ pamphlet for future reference. Additionally, I suggested a soft start feature to prevent premature compressor failure. Currently, there are no immediate concerns, but I will look into the soft start recommendation. Thank you for choosing our services. Have a great day.

I visited to address a customer's query about their Nest Thermostat. They were concerned about an adapter kit message on the device. I provided a Comfort Care packet for future reference.

Upon arrival, I conducted an evaluation of a system that was not cooling. I began by verifying the 240v supply to the contactor. Inside, I checked if the thermostat was signaling the system. Outside, I confirmed the thermostat's call was reaching the control board. After ensuring all components were receiving the call, I bypassed the pressure switch to resolve the issue. The system started immediately. Refrigerant levels were optimal, and the system achieved a 20-degree temperature split. Thank you for choosing our services.

Upon arrival, I conducted a comprehensive inspection of the HVAC system as requested by the homeowner, who had recently moved in. The system was found to be in good condition, with refrigerant levels and electrical components all functioning properly. The temperature differential (delta) was measured at 20°, indicating efficient performance. I recommended installing a UV system to maintain clean air and resealing any air leaks to optimize performance. Additionally, I identified a duct issue where a strap had come loose, causing poor airflow. I advised rerunning the emergency drain and adding a safety switch in the primary line for added protection. The system is currently cooling effectively, and I provided the homeowner with details of the necessary repairs for their consideration.

I arrived on site to address flooring buckling issues. The customer had already tested the water and sewer systems but wanted a camera inspection upstream from the cleanouts to ensure no problems existed before foundation filling. During the evaluation, I identified a dual room capacitor that was out of tolerance, which was preventing the unit from running. After replacing the door capacitor, the unit started functioning properly. Additionally, I diagnosed a faulty zone control board and a faulty thermal expansion valve. The homeowner inquired about other necessary repairs. I explained that to ensure the unit operates within normal specifications, both the zone control board and the thermal expansion valve should be replaced due to high superheat and the current bypass of the zone board. I assured the homeowner that the office would contact them when the parts arrive. Thank you for choosing our services.

Upon inspection, it was discovered that the irrigation system was not functioning due to the double check valve being turned off. This valve had been turned off during previous maintenance work in December and was never reactivated. After testing the system, a leak was identified near the house, adjacent to the sidewalk. This leak was repaired, although it was surrounded by roots, making it uncertain whether it was caused by our work. Additionally, another leak was found and addressed. No warranty coverage is provided for the irrigation system. The repairs were completed by Mark W.

Upon arrival, I was informed that the system was not cooling properly and cycled on and off frequently. After a thorough inspection, I discovered that the primary drain for the HVAC system was clogged, causing the float switch to trip. This issue was preventing the system from functioning correctly. I scheduled a plumber to clear the clog and advised the homeowner to keep the system off until the issue was resolved. While the system was off, I tested and checked all electrical components and refrigeration, finding a Delta of 20°. Once the drain is cleared, the system should cool effectively. Additionally, I installed a pan strip in the drain pan to prevent future clogs.

I began with a thorough inspection, changing the filter and evaluating airflow quality. I measured the temperature split to ensure optimal performance and added 2 gallons of fluid to the primary drain line. Outside, I meticulously cleaned the system to obtain accurate refrigerant pressures. Upon discovering a leak in the straighter valve, I informed the homeowner, who opted for replacement. I pulled a vacuum and replaced the straighter valves. After testing, the system operated correctly, providing a reliable and efficient service. Thank you for choosing our expertise.

Upon arrival, I identified that the system was not cooling. The homeowner reported the issue started the previous day. I discovered the furnace switch in the closet was turned off, preventing power to the unit. After turning the switch back on and testing the system, it began cooling effectively. I also found a significant leak at the supply plenum to the evaporator coil and resealed the system with homeowner approval. After running for over 15 minutes, water began accumulating in the closet due to a plumbing issue. I informed the homeowner and recommended a plumber, but they chose to attempt clearing the line themselves. The system was left cooling properly.

Upon arrival, I diagnosed an issue with the homeowners' system, finding that the capacitor had failed. The homeowner reported that Home Warranty had replaced it just last week, but the old capacitor dated July 6, 2021, was still present. I installed a new capacitor, restored system functionality, and conducted thorough checks on the drain lines, temperature split, and refrigerant pressures. Everything is now operating optimally. Thank you for choosing our services.

Upon arrival, I identified that the low voltage wires had become disconnected, which was causing the unit to malfunction. I carefully reconnected the wires, ensuring that all connections were secure and properly insulated. After reconnecting the wires, I tested the unit to confirm that it was functioning correctly. I also inspected the electrical components outside the unit to ensure they were in good condition and free from any damage. The unit was operating at optimal levels, and I verified that all electrical components were functioning as intended. I collected payment for the service via credit card, ensuring a smooth and professional transaction.

During my visit, I identified that the system had a dead capacitor, a common issue caused by extreme outdoor temperatures and the system drawing high locked rotor amperage (LRA) unnecessarily. To address this, I recommended adding a soft start device and a new capacitor. I replaced the old 35/5 capacitor with a new one and will return to install the soft start on the Amana system. The Amana unit is six years old, and its parts warranty is valid until August 24, 2025. This solution will enhance the system's efficiency and longevity.

When there was no response, I documented the situation and proceeded to the next scheduled task, ensuring all steps were accurately recorded for future reference.
