Job Locations
11/30/24 TS- customer has installed most of the tankless but needs hot/cold hooked up and flex gas line. Water and gas appears to be 1/2" the valves are way to close for hookup no service valve on cold side. Apparently pex is in wall but hot line is galvanized and cold line is copper. Pausing call so a more advanced tech can handle on Monday or Tuesday
I dispatched at 5:26 and seen in text chat when I arrived she canceled, drove out here for nothing. Nobody alerted me that she canceled pausing job headed home.
On arrival system running and heating producing 20 degrees delta. Heat strips worked as intended. Indoor unit very clean. Outdoor unit passed all electrical testing but overamped on start up. Added a compressor saver kit to address this.
On arrival system running and cooling producing 23 degree delta. Indoor unit clean, blower capicator well within tolerance. Outdoor unit passed all electrical testing, dual run capicator is getting close to being out of tolerance. System running and cooling as I left.
Arrived onsite customer had a disposer at the home she wanted installed. Inspected the disposer that was there already and the plate was just stuck. Unjammed plate and disposer ran just fine.
Gave estimate to install laundry box with drain and h/c water feeding from lavatory. Unsure if drain in wall runs down or dirty arms to toilet vent. We will have to run drain thru tee wall. Need to check and see if code will allow this. Will follow up with customer tomorrow
Replaced hose bibb in backyard area. Tested after repair was made everything working properly.
11/9/24 Customer not home have to reschedule
For this evaluation I came back out to look at the upstairs system as it was not cooling. When I came out for the super tune-up the upstairs system was extremely low on refrigerant with a 1° sub cool and a leak on the condenser coil. From the time I was out here to when I came back the system had completely ran out of refrigerant and now I was only blowing out warm air. The customer still has a parts warranty on the condenser coil so he would like to have that taken care of under warranty but would like to know how long it would take for that part to get in as his schedule is packed. I will speak with Rob our parts manager and get a rough estimate and let the customer know. Well I was here I went ahead and replaced the flame sensor.
Install 30k 2 stage straight electric upflow with high efficiency filtration, code kit, install client supplied nest thermostat, keep current UV system and install 50 gallon basic electric water heater
The panels are a little older but in really good condition and they are in a closet but they are completely out of the way from the clothing but I did still recommend changing the location and GFCIs are needed in the kitchen and bathroom
On this job I washed 2 condensor. I could change filters even though they need to be because he had none. He has a clogged drian line and is draining thru emergency drian. He opt out of fixing this today. Cooling side of both ssytem showed the system could benefit from 160z of 410a to achieve 10° subcooling. He has opt out of this as well. The heating side of both system are in tolerance. The could benefit from uv and soft starts.
I was here to perform a super tune up. The filter was changed out system. Very clean, there is no drain switch on system. Bleach was poured bleach down drain. Capacitor intolerance. Refrigerant in range and Customer was informed what drain switch does and what it prevents.Interested in adding it on their next tune up
Arrived at customers house for heat tune up All components other than dual run capacitor running in manufacturers spec Recommended dual run capacitor Recommended UV system due to biological growth Recommended duct cleaning due to dust and biological growth Recommended blower cleaning due to dust Recommended coil cleaning due to dust and biological growth All declined Customer stated interest in UV system and dual run capacitor under same as cash and will call to schedule doing so at a later date
On this job I cleaned the condensor and changed the air filter. The cooling side has a 8 subcool and td of 18. The system has back up heat strip still in tolerance pulling 20 amps per strip. This is a 10 kw. The system in heat pump mode makes good heat. I do recommend a duct cleaning and uv system to tackle the bio growth found thru out the air handler.
For this super tune-up I inspected the upstairs and downstairs furnaces, condensers, and evaporator coils. The downstairs system overall looks good and is running well, however the upstairs system I only had a 13⁰ Delta, and the furnace was intermittently shutting off after igniting meaning the flame Sensor is failing. When I went outside and gauged up at the condenser I had a 37⁰ Superheat and a 1⁰ Subcool indicating the system is dangerously low on refrigerant. Since we just replaced the evaporator coil last year I leak searched the condenser coil first and found a small leak on the coil itself. The homeowner was not home at the time however the daughter called him and I talked to him on the phone and explained what I found. Due to the amount of money he's already spent on the system with a coil replacement and the flame sensor and other furnace components potentially failing I recommend full system replacement so he does not have to worry about anything for another 10 years. On this job I inspected both sides of the system. Heating side tested in tolerance the system inside has some biogrowth. Cooling side the system is over 20 years old. After talking about new system prices she wants to go ahead and replace and her hvac system and would like a new water heater. Wants home and budget plan after she purchases new system
