Expensive lesson

I was quoted a service fee on the phone, when the technician came he told me a different, (higher) price. Told him I was quoted lower price. Dispatch made a mistake when quoting price. Her mistake, NOT mine. The tech walked in, took the thermostat off the wall & said it's rechargeable with a USB micro cord. Very expensive lesson for me. Probably the easiest call he'll have all day. The technician was great.

Tech arrived at a warranty tuneup. Upon inspection, the capacitor was within specs. The contactor was in working condition. The condenser coils were hosed off to assist with air flow across the coils. There was no observed surge protection. The filter was clean. The UV bulb was expired and was replaced. The drain system was clear and bleach was poured. The customer was informed of recommendations today. The system was functioning upon departure.

Completed my thorough inspection, I started working on the indoor unit and found that all connections are on properly, I would advise installing a treatment strip to bleach the incoming water to your drain lines. The outdoor unit was washed, cleaned, and found the capacititor within rating. I would also advise installing a unit surge protector to protect your electronics in the home from unwanted surges.

Performed ahc x3, 3 year old gas Lennox systems. Operation is normal, refrigerant levels in range, capacitors in tolerance, amps normal, all three compressors pulling over lra, need hard start kits to lower inrush amps and extend lifespan of the system. Cleaned all 3 condenser coils. Changed all filters, flushed drainlines with bleach, all systems have emergency pan float switches, recommend primary drainline float switch to prevent water from going into emergency pan and possible ceiling damage, no form of surge orotion, recommend whole home surge protection. Talked to customer about past interest in generators, and if he had any interest in solar.

3/17/23 upon arrival found system heating and cooling with a 20DT. Amana heat pump system had a clean coil and the capacitor on the system was in tolerance. System had a compressor saver and pressures were good. Filter was a little dirty and the customer did not have a replacement. This filter is clean enough to make it through the season but I told her we will need one next visit. System was left cooling with no further issues

Uv bulb is past it's 1 year effectiveness, needs to be replaced to keep system free of biological growth, water heater is in poor condition, lots of calcium buildup, loud popping when on, flue not connected properly, rust on fittings and tank. Went to house for p and l warranty on 1 system and stu on another system. Did p & l warranty system first. Checked filter, filter clean, blower good, electrical connections good, uv bulb dim, recommended replacement, customer wants to wait. Went to outdoor and checked it. Capacitor within tolerance, fan amps good, compressor amps fine. Coil clean unit is working. Went to 2nd unit for stu and checked blower, electrical connections, filter, ducts, and limits. All looking good, changed filter, Flame sensor going bad, recommended replacement, customer said no. Recommended uv system to sterilize air, customer declined. Plenum leaking air, recommended duct repair, customer wants to wait. Went to outdoor unit and checked fan amps, compressor amps, and capacitor. Capacitor good, fan amps good. Recommended compressor savor to reduce wear on compressor, customer said no. Coil is clean, electrical connections are working, unit is fully operational.

Drain lines clear, ducts are good, heat straps working. Biological growth on indoor unit near primary drain pan, recommended UV system to sterilize germs, customer wants to wait. Went to outdoor unit and checked capacitor, compressor and Gan motor. Capacitor is within tolerance, fan amps good, compressor amps good. Coil is clean, electrical connections good. Contactor burned and pitted, making buzzing noise, recommended replacement, customer said yes, replaced Contactor.

2/9/23 upon arrival found system heating with a 20DT. Uv system wasn't on and the bulb was burned out. Both the ballast and Uv bulb are bad and I replaced the bulb with customers approval but did not have a ballast. Informed customer I would be coming back with a new ballast under her parts and labor warranty. Changed a dirty filter and checked delta. Delta was at 20. Customer renewed membership and we'll be returning to replace the UV ballast. Washed condenser coil and capacitor was within tolerance
