Arrived at location and spoke with home owner. He indicated system was not cooling properly. Upon inspection of indoor and outdoor unit, numerous problems were observed, such as biological growth inside air handler, blower wheel severely impacted by excessive dust buildup and biological growth. Air filter was very dirty and switched out with a new one. Blower motor was working within data specs. Drain line was clear. Outdoor unit was clean. Dual capacitor was within tolerance. Contactor looked good and condenser fan motor was working appropriately within data specs. Line set was very well insulated. Outdoor system has had coil repaired and left in a condition suseptable to possible rubout due to jagged metal resting on copper line. Condenser fan motor leaking oil with play in motor shaft. Damaged contacts on primary unit electric control. Condenser fan motor capacitor found to be failing. System low on refrigerant charge. Upon arrival found system not turning on at all, found furnace door was not pressing in the door switch. Seated door properly and system kicked right on, system is 23 years old, r22 refrigerant, compressor is drawing extremely high amps, and customer has a known leak on system and has been adding refrigerant in the past, due to systems age, condition, efficiency and r22 phase out, customer wants to speak with comfort advisor about system replacement.
