After the first company came out twice and misdiagnosed my system, they tried selling me an entire new unit, to the tune of $15k. At 5PM I called several other companies and Comfort Experts was the only one that actually answered. Before I ended the call, Justin was on his way. Once he arrived and I explained the situation, it took him about 15min to find a burnt circuit board. Justin was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. I am very relived and impressed.

Matt showed up and I told him what the issue was with my lighting fixtures. I told him that both my brother and neighbor checked the breaker switch and that there was no issue with it. He immediately went across the room and turned on another switch that I had never used before. The lights turned on! Apparently, they were switched off by someone at some point and time. I did not know that the switch controlled that bank of lights! I’m so happy!

Very nice. But….nothing was measured to give an accurate quote didn’t offer any reasonable solution except for a complete duct work engineering. I’m assuming using our original ductwork. He was in our attic less than 5 minutes and came back with a ridiculous quote of $15,300. He was an upsale salesman rather than an “engineer”. If you call this company make sure you get a second or third opinion.

But now is my chance to say I had the best technician from Comfort Experts Ive ever had in 25 years Ill been partners with a company. You find it weird I say partners with the company? Mike D diagnosed it was low on freon was low and spent 3 hours working on finding the problem. I felt he really cared about Finding and fixing the issue with the unit they installed. First I would like share how professional our Tech Cody was. He completed all time up work in a timely manner and checked everything 100% After completion Cody covered his check list with us and shared pointers on how to keep our unit running like new. During the inspection, I identified multiple areas with insufficient insulation, primarily due to poorly insulated round metal ductwork. To address this, I applied additional insulation on top of and around the ductwork, ensuring it covers the ductwork and near the eaves in the attic. Additionally, the system lacked sufficient return air, so I installed a filter return grille and added a 14 to 16-inch duct to the return plenum. The customer approved the changes and paid for the work. I coordinated with the installation manager, Joe, and scheduled the follow-up work for Thursday, July 23rd.
Upon arrival, the blower was operational, but the outdoor unit was inactive. No error codes were visible on the outdoor unit, and there was no indication of a cooling demand from the control board. I meticulously inspected and tightened all low voltage connections. After restarting the system, it successfully initiated and operated. I monitored the system for an hour, confirming that it was effectively cooling the space.
The customer reported inadequate cooling performance, with minimal airflow during peak heat. Refrigerant levels were normal, but the filter was heavily soiled, likely restricting airflow and causing coil freezing. No replacement filter was available, so the system was left without one temporarily. The evaporator coil, blower wheel, and outdoor unit were all heavily soiled and cleaned. Inside the air handler, I discovered biological growth, necessitating a system rejuvenation and duct cleaning, along with the installation of a germicidal light to prevent future growth. Refrigerant levels were within the acceptable range, and both the compressor and condenser fan motor were functioning properly. The outdoor unit was cleaned and treated with a protective wax. The system was operational and effectively cooling the home upon my departure.
Upon arrival, I assessed the issue where the unit had frozen multiple times over the past few days. The customer had already changed the filter and cleaned the coil. I identified that the primary electrical control on the outdoor unit had fused, causing the unit to remain on after the thermostat had shut down the blower. The condenser coils had accumulated heavy vine and weed growth, which I cleared as much as possible. I highly recommend the customer use a weed eater or mower around the unit to maintain efficiency. Additionally, I recommended the installation of a micro airsoft start kit and a UV system.
On 7/15/26, I addressed a whole house stoppage. The initial inspection revealed an old thin-wall ABS pipe with multiple leaks under the mobile home. To clear the blockage, I used a cable line to navigate through the visible section of the pipe. After successfully clearing the line in both directions, I removed roots that had infiltrated the outgoing sewer and washed away a soft paper stoppage from beneath the home. Although the stoppage was cleared, the condition of the fittings and leaks under the house remains a concern. There is no warranty on the stoppage or the sewer lines. I will return on 7/23/26 for further diagnosis and potential repairs, and assistance will be needed during this appointment.

The toilet tank was securely attached to the wall with a hard substance, which I informed the customer about to avoid any liability. I safely removed the tank, replaced the flush and fill valve, and installed a new flapper. Additionally, I successfully unjammed the disposal, though I advised it lacks warranty and recommended replacement.
On 7/13/26, I was dispatched to address an issue with solar panels that were not connecting to the end phase and producing power. Upon arrival, I began by examining the system and discovered that an internet connectivity problem was preventing the panels from functioning. This issue was impeding any attempts to diagnose or repair the system. I informed the customer that until the internet issue was resolved, we could not determine if any components were faulty. The customer agreed to have an internet specialist inspect the situation. Once the internet is operational, we will return to reconnect the solar panels and ensure they are producing power. The job is currently on hold pending the customer's call.
I was called to address an electrical issue where plugs and lights were non-functional. After conducting a thorough diagnostic, I discovered that a specific plug was malfunctioning, providing power only to the top half. By carefully examining and testing, I identified the faulty plug and resolved the issue. The customer is now satisfied with the restored functionality.
Upon arrival, I identified that half of the garage and exterior plugs were non-functional. I explained to the customer that a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) controls these outlets, a safety requirement in every home. I located the GFCI and informed the customer about its importance. Additionally, I noticed multiple broken covers on the exterior plugs, which could cause the GFCI to trip. I explained this possibility and mentioned that the GFCI might also be faulty. I offered to replace the GFCI and repair the covers, but the customer opted to handle the repairs himself. I provided detailed pricing for potential future services.
I arrived promptly and assessed the situation. After a thorough evaluation, I provided a detailed explanation of the required repairs and maintenance. I ensured the customer understood each step of the process and answered all their questions. I coordinated with the customer to schedule the work for a convenient time, pending confirmation from his wife upon her return from her appointment. I left the premises clean and tidy, ensuring all tools and materials were properly stored.
Today, I performed a service on a 4-year-old Goodman straight cool condenser paired with an Evcon downflow air handler. The filters were severely dirty and deteriorating, preventing airflow, so the system is currently running without them. The evaporator coil and blower wheel were also dirty, necessitating a system rejuvenation. I ran a camera to locate the stoppage in the line. The initial estimate did not include removing the blockage. After running a 25-foot cable, I discovered a rock obstructing the pipe. I carefully broke the rock loose, ensuring the drain line was clear. This resolved the clog, and the line is now functioning properly. If a larger machine had been needed, the estimate would have increased.
