Not accurate work performed
I wasn’t going to share my opinion from Hobson Air Conditioning Inc. also known as Comfort Experts because there seems to be lack of communication skills with the technician and office staff.
When I called to request service I was told there would be a $199 fee for them to come out today due to the Holiday. And that I would need to pay this plus any additional fees at the end of my service.
After I received the text message that tech was heading my way. I began receiving calls and text saying I needed to pay to secure my appointment. I had at least 5 text and two voicemails regarding this. After reaching out to the office and no one answered I replied to a text. Saying I wasn’t informed of this. And an apology was offered to me via text, and said I could pay the technician.
Gabriel Peterson, was the technician and he urged me to do a Google review because it was the most popular one to do and to make sure to provide his name and details.
He arrived quickly and was respectful of my property. Even though he asked to use my bathroom, and did. Which I think was very unprofessional.
He evaluated the situation and said the safety switch drain was full of water so he cleared the water. He said this would be a better option before seeing if the drain was clogged. He also said I could have accidentally moved the switch when I changed the filter and that made the water overflow. The thermostat came back on once he did this. He also checked the inside and outside unit, upon my request. He kept trying to sale me some bands to prevent water spillage even though he hadn’t actually did anything
About 4 hours later the unit stopped working again, same issue. When he arrived he made it seem as though I had refused service earlier of unclogging the unit. I told him I hadn’t refused the service and then he said that wasn’t what he meant. He had those same bands he was trying to sell me earlier in his pocket. And asked again, if I wanted to purchase them.
I paid $300.00 on the first visit both were for service fees of $199 an emergency fee they called it and an additional $99 service fee. On the second visit he said to unclog the drain it would be $500 plus dollars plus another service fee. So when I questioned the $300 I had just paid them a few hours ago and he didn’t fix the issue. Why would it cost be $500 plus dollars more? He said he would waive the service fee. I wouldn’t have thought you would charge me another service fee for something you didn’t fix hours go.
I called the office to request a manager call me because I asked Gabriel to contact a manger and he didn’t do that until later. No manger returned the call because he was able to get someone on the phone. And nothing was resolved by speaking with her.
Gabriel forgot to mention to me after he was about to start on unclogging the drain that I needed to sign a waiver. That they wouldn’t be responsible for any water damage. When I asked him why hadn’t he told me about this before agreeing to have the work done. He kinda got defensive, and said he forgot.
But he forgot to tell me about signing the waivers upon his first visit also. The work was done and then he asked me to sign to waivers.
On my invoice he states he realized he had not informed me that a drain waiver form would be needed. I declined the recommendation and requested him to leave my property. No repairs were performed and the issue remains unresolved. The customer was informed of the required documentation before any work began and ultimately declined the recommended service.
I declined because I felt he wasn’t honest. And he was trying to push those bands and of course sign up for a membership. He didn’t do anything for $300.00 it doesn’t make sense that I would I give them another $500 plus dollars.
If I had problems on the first visit and they had to dispatch him out again the same day for the same problem. It tells me you are not experienced enough and I do not want you working on my unit. My Trane unit is barely 6 years old and he was acting like he had to do so much extra work to unclog the drain. That was another reason I didn’t want him working on my unit.

This company responded immediately to an emergency need, will always appreciate this !
Hobson Comfort Experts of Ft Worth TX, what a pleasure, to have done my homework in the decision process of finding the best overall AC HVAC company to install a complete new AC HVAC system in my 65 year old home in FT Worth TX. Completed in 2021. Texas having unbearable summer heat, this necessity entails a tremendous amount of thought and research to make the decision process on the company to contract , as a commitment that should carry through time.
This week, proved, that 5 years ago I made the correct decision.
Complications of course can occur to just about everything, involving moving working parts; troubleshooting, and experience especially, is imperative in working through any and all unpredictable complications, when I rang the bell on this being a emergency of sorts, in what was going to be a somewhat complicated troubleshoot of a condensation water issue, that was a bit complex and needed some complex troubleshooting in a tight environment, Hobson Comfort Air, along with many staff employees including Kristi , with communication and Alonso, and Manager Ryan Schmuhl, fully recognized the complication, reacting superbly with a rapid fix with excellent communication skills, along with skilled abilities to get their way around a bit of complications with the fix,
I realized I did make the right decision 5 years ago by contracting Hobson Comfort Air of Ft Worth, TX. to place this new system in a now 70 year old home
The critical thinking, the recognization of the emergency ( due to absolute need of AC in the summer heat of central Texas, repairing this somewhat difficult condensation water issue was immediately addressed. Thank you to all involved ,

Ian was a true blessing today! Im a New homeowner and only been in my home since April. So it was a huge surprise that i was having issues with my toilet backing up into my tub! Recently I had a great referral from Angies list and decided to do the same to find a plumber. Comfort experts were the first to call and Rebecca was extremely helpful in setting appointment. Within the hour I had a knock on my door and was greeted by Ian and his personable smile! Although I was hesitant to proceed after the quote Ian assured me that he was knowledgeable and his integrity spoke volumes! He treated me like a human being first and customer second which confirmed I made the right choice in moving forward with him completing the repair. Furthermore, Ian kept me informed with exactly what he was doing and completed the job in under an hour. In speaking to him I found out he was a Veteran which further explains why I absolutely love this guy! Ian you ROCK and I really appreciate you!

I engaged with the homeowner to discuss their requirements for the supply run to the master bedroom. After a thorough discussion, it was decided to install a bypass damper to enhance airflow efficiency. Additionally, the upstairs damper motor was opened to ensure proper ventilation and balance in the system. The bypass damper installation was carefully executed to prevent any disruptions, and the damper motor was adjusted to optimize performance. This work was completed to improve the overall comfort and efficiency of the home's ventilation system.

Upon evaluation, I successfully restarted the customer's system. To address the overheating issue, I installed a hard start kit and meticulously cleaned the outdoor unit. The compressor was not functioning due to overheating. After resolving this, I found that the refrigerant pressures were abnormally low. I discussed the possibility of a leak in the evaporator coil with the homeowner, recommending its replacement. However, the homeowner opted to monitor the refrigerant levels before making a decision on the coil replacement.

A customer contacted us for an evaluation of a cooling system that was not performing adequately. Upon arrival, I found the system operational but not achieving the desired temperature split. I began by checking the refrigerant pressures, discovering elevated liquid saturation and low-side pressure. I replaced the out-of-tolerance capacitor and meticulously cleaned the outdoor condenser coil. These actions normalized the system pressures according to manufacturer specifications. I then measured the return and supply air temperatures, confirming a 15°F temperature split. The system was now cooling properly and fully functional. The customer was satisfied with the service provided.

Today, I identified a malfunctioning system featuring a faulty capacitor and a worn-out fan motor. Additionally, the compressor exhibited high inrush current. Upon diagnosing these issues, I recommended repairs. However, the client expressed a preference to discuss system replacement options instead of making repairs. I provided information on potential upgrades and benefits of a new system.

Recently, I successfully installed a high-efficiency Level 5 36k heat pump system. This involved a comprehensive assessment of the existing HVAC setup to ensure compatibility and optimal performance. I meticulously selected the best location for the outdoor unit, considering factors such as airflow and proximity to the indoor unit. The installation process included precise ductwork adjustments, electrical connections, and refrigerant line fittings. I also performed a thorough system test to confirm that the heat pump was operating at peak efficiency, providing both heating and cooling as required. The final step involved educating the client on the system's features and maintenance tips to ensure long-term reliability and energy savings.

During the electrical inspection, I thoroughly examined the breaker panel, ensuring all components were in optimal condition. The previous visit involved replacing a burnt-up breaker, and upon inspection, the new breaker was functioning correctly. All connections within the panel were secure, and I verified that the wiring was intact and free from any damage. Additionally, I confirmed the presence of Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) protection in areas where it is required, enhancing safety. The overall electrical system was found to be in excellent condition, with no signs of wear or potential hazards.

I performed a comprehensive cooling system tune-up, starting with a temperature split check that did not meet specifications. The filter was changed, and the drains were cleaned and cleared. The condenser was thoroughly cleaned, removing all debris. The condenser capacitor, currently measuring 63 MFD, needs to be replaced as it should be 70/5 MFD. While monitoring the system, I observed a low suction of 109 and high head pressure between 385 to 400, indicating the evaporator coil needs replacement. Additionally, the compressor showed signs of overheating. The customer was informed of all issues and discussed potential options, ultimately deciding to wait for their home warranty to discuss further.

I conducted a comprehensive super tuneup, thoroughly inspecting all system components, drains, electrical connections, and refrigerant levels. I cleaned everything meticulously. Upon opening the supply Plenum, I discovered violet growth, which I demonstrated to the homeowners via a video. They chose to address this promptly. After installing a germicidal light, the system appears to be functioning well. I scheduled an electrician and plumber to review any internal house issues.

Upon arrival, I assessed the air conditioning system and found that it was operational, with the temperature dropping as expected. The customer confirmed that the unit had been functioning properly prior to my visit. After a thorough inspection, I verified that all components were working correctly and that there were no apparent issues. Given that the system was already performing as intended, no service was required, and the customer was pleased to hear that no service fee would be charged.

Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough evaluation of the cooling system. The primary issue was the system's inability to cool effectively. Upon inspection, it was determined that the compressor capacitor and start kit had both failed. I replaced both components with new parts. After installation, I tested the system to ensure proper operation. The system successfully started and began to cool as expected. To prevent future issues, I recommended that the homeowner schedule a comprehensive tune-up for the entire system. This proactive maintenance will help ensure continued efficiency and longevity of the unit.

Upon arrival, I identified a frozen coil in heating mode. Switching to the heat pump mode successfully melted the ice. After confirming the system's functionality, I tested the airflow and discovered that the zone board was not sending a signal to the damper to open during operation. This necessitated a replacement of the zone board. Following this, I monitored the system and noticed the TXV (Thermostatic Expansion Valve) was malfunctioning, with a superheat reading of 28 and a subcool of 6. This indicated a faulty metering device. A leak search revealed no refrigerant leaks, and the decent subcool confirmed that the freezing was not due to a low refrigerant charge. I will await the customer's decision on repairs. Thank you for choosing our services.

A customer contacted us to replace the failed OEM control board. Upon arrival, I replaced the faulty board with a new OEM one and confirmed the system was functioning correctly. I then checked the refrigerant pressures to ensure they met manufacturer specifications and verified that the system was producing cold air. To ensure the repair was successful, I monitored the system's performance for a period. After confirming everything was working properly, I removed the temporary window units that we had provided. The system was fully functional and cooling effectively upon completion of the service.

Upon arrival, I conducted a thorough inspection of the drain system to identify the source of the blockage. Using specialized tools, I successfully cleared the clog, ensuring the drain unit was fully functional. I meticulously checked the area to confirm there were no residual issues. The drain was tested to verify proper drainage and water flow. After completing the task, I processed the payment through the client's preferred credit card method. The job was completed efficiently, leaving the client satisfied with the restored functionality of their drain system.

Upon arrival, I assessed the air supply grille and identified that it was causing discomfort by directing air directly into the customer's face. To resolve this, I replaced the existing grille with a curved one, specifically designed to diffuse the airflow more evenly. After installation, I made minor adjustments to ensure the air was blowing in the opposite direction, effectively eliminating the direct blast. This modification significantly improved the comfort level in the area. The customer expressed satisfaction with the change, and I ensured everything was functioning optimally before concluding the service. Thank you for choosing our services; have a great day.

During the service, I conducted a thorough evaluation and identified a dual run capacitor that was out of tolerance. I replaced it under the panel warranty. Following the replacement, I verified the compressor saver kit, which was within tolerance. The unit was operating within normal limits with appropriate refrigerant levels. Additionally, I noticed the condenser coil was heavily soiled and recommended a thorough cleaning. The homeowner agreed, and I provided before and after photos. Thank you for choosing our services.

Upon arrival, I assessed the issue with the non-functional lighting. After a thorough inspection, I identified that the problem was due to a burnt-out light bulb. I promptly replaced the faulty bulb with a new one, ensuring it was securely installed. Following the replacement, the lighting system functioned perfectly. The customer was highly satisfied with the quick and efficient resolution of the issue. They expressed a strong preference for my services for any future electrical needs, appreciating the simplicity and effectiveness of the solution provided.

During the cooling tune-up for this vehicle, I identified three critical issues that could affect its performance and longevity. Firstly, I discovered biological growth within the supply plenum, which can compromise air quality and system efficiency. Secondly, the absence of a drain safety mechanism posed a risk of water damage. Lastly, the system exhibited over amperage startup, exceeding the specifications listed on the data tag. To address these issues, I recommended installing a UV system to prevent and treat biological growth, adding a drain safety to avoid water damage, and incorporating a compressor saver kit to reduce the low-resistance airflow. Although the homeowner did not commit to these recommendations, I provided a detailed email with all the suggested solutions. Thank you for choosing Comfort Experts. Have a great day!

During the visit, I thoroughly inspected the ductwork to address the customer's concerns. Although the ducts were sealed, their age was evident, and the jacket insulation was no longer providing adequate protection. Cleaning the ducts risked damaging them further. I also cleaned and washed two HVAC systems, one using R-32 refrigerant and the other using R-410A. Both systems were tested for sulfur hexafluoride (SH) and sulfuryl chloride (SC) tolerance, revealing that the R-410A system could benefit from a soft start feature and a new fan motor to improve efficiency and performance.

During the cooling tune-up for the heat pump system, I first checked the refrigerant levels, which appeared to be adequate. However, I identified a restriction in the system that needs attention. The filter requires immediate replacement to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, upgrading to an IAQ 1000 system was recommended for improved air quality. A thorough cleaning of the coils and blower was also conducted to enhance efficiency. Although the customer was informed about the need for a drain clear, they are unable to perform this task at the moment. Thank you for choosing our services; we strive to provide the best care for your system.
