Danny was exceptional to work with today. He explained all the concepts where they were easy to understand. He also took the time to show me where the underlying issues were within my system. We have used Comfort Experts HVAC service for many years now. I had no idea about offering electrical. I called, made the appointment but had to reschedule due to timing. Jake came by first thing the next morning and checked the issue we were having. No repairs were made. He assured me if the problem kept happening he would come out and fix the issue we were having. Hernan and Ivan got here early and got right to work. They worked diligently in a very hot attic and out in the summer Texas heat for several hours. They got rid of the old system, then got the new system up and running ASAP. They knew their craft and were careful to not make a mess and to clean up thoroughly – inside and out.
Hobson’s did a great job of getting a service tech out on Sunday on short notice. (Full disclosure – we pay $20 / mos. for benefits like this. It’s the best $20 I pay each month.) The new unit was running by 3:00 today (Monday).
Point of interest…at 3:00 today it was warmer in my home (94 degrees) than it was in Amarillo (90 degrees). At 5:00 it’s down to 85!!

Our A/C unit went out and I called Hobsons at about 11:00. They had a technician out the same day…..Zak didn't get here until 7:30 pm, but he was incredibly upbeat and personable. (He actually told us he might be working until midnight!)
He got our unit back up and running.

it was his last call of the day, it had begun to rain, and he had a long drive back home ahead of him. But he cheerfully checked out the system, indoors and out, found a drainage problem that required extra time to fix, eliminated the small gas leak that required service in the first place, and left me two furnaces perfectly tuned and running. On arrival downstairs unit producing 17 degrees of cooling while upstairs only produced 11. Upstairs unit has bacterial growth in coil area, downstairs is clean and in good condition. Outdoor units passed all electrical testing. Found upstairs unit with a 1.5 subcool and a 40 superheat, verifying that the system is low on refridgerant. The evaporator coil while running is around 32 degrees and is likely to freeze up with continued use. Advised customer and she will pass info along to husband.
For this job I performed an evaluation. I diagnosed a failed compressor and found a leak in the evaporator coil. Gave estimates for a repair and recommended replacement. Today we showed up her complimentary plumbing evaluation. Upon arrival the water heater pilot was not lit. The homeowner had tried to relight it himself and was unable to. Last night he started the cooktop and the flame was yellow which indicated air was in the line. We went to the Attic, and with the water heater as normal. It lit up perfectly fine and had no struggles. Stayed for about 5 minutes to check to make sure the water heater was still in, and it was. Everything was working properly when we left.

Just blew in insulation, system not keeping up upstairs very well. Found return was not well sealed and thermostat is right under the attic, sealed up return and customer purchased an attic tent.

For this job I performed a Plumbing tune up for the residence. Inspected all fixtures checking for proper functioning. All fixtures are fully operational. 2 faucets had some issues, both were loose and would move when turning handle. Customer also has a tandum water heater set up. The unit on the right is not operational. There is a crack on the interior wall. Customer is not interested in getting it fixed, he is looking to possibly upgrade to a Tankless and have a whole home filtration/softener installed. Customer stated he will reach out when he's ready to move forward.
7/15/25 Performed all work described in estimate. Tested after repairs were made everything working properly.
Need to schedule additional work for next Monday will be meeting diggers here to complete work.
Also need electrician lead set for Monday as well wants some lugs taken care of as well.
Today we showed up for a complimentary plumbing estimate. The homeowner had purchased two 8-in lavatory sets, and just wanting them installed. We uninstalled the old ones and took them with us, installed the new 8 inch lab sets. We tested both faucet and made sure they were not leaking. Everything worked and drained properly.

I have performed my electrical inspection I replaced a few light bulbs as well as a GFCI the GFCI that was there just wasn't functioning it was overheating as well but the panel itself is a little bit on the older side still very much functioning I told her that if there was anything else that she needed she could call us
Emailed estimate for 200a panel upgrade. Advised safety concerns with challenger panel. No immediate visual or mechanical concerns. However the brand and age of panel are something to keep in mind. We recommend service upgrade. Lowering meter location. Add whole home surge. Update grounding. Replaced Panel. Flush mount indoor. Add 200A exterior disconnect.
For this evaluation the customer system was not cooling because the purple wire going to center on the capacitor had burnt up and was not making connection not powering the fan, however the compressor was running causing the system to go into thermal overload and recycling the heat being absorbed by the evaporator coil. I put a new Spade connection onto the wire reconnected it to the capacitor and the system fired up amp draws and refrigerant levels looked good.
I discussed with the customer about having an Electrician for Monday June 30th for the customers old Challenger electrical panel.
