Alvarado, TX HVAC Company Reviews
Recent Work
For this evaluation I should have to the customer's home and their heat pump was not running at all. Customer stated that the system had stopped working while in heating mode. I inspected the air handler where the 3A fuse was popped. I replaced it and tried replicating the issue but could not find it. I moved to the outdoor condenser and when I opened the electrical panel I could see the W2 thermostat wires were touching the capacitor and the insulation had rubbed off and the copper was touching the capacitor causing the fuse to pop. I used electrical tape and covered over where the robot was and also moved the capacitor a little higher out of the way of the thermostat wiring. Customer would like to have a plumber come out here to help with installation of the whole home water filtration system.
On arrival system off due to blown fuse. Once fuse was replaced system ran in both cooling and heating with no issues. Advised that this could return in future but currently it is fully functioning as intended. Found biological growth in system, recommended uv system to kill it. Once installed system returned to heating with no issues.
Wuote
On arrival system idle. Once running heat pump and heat strips worked as intended. Unit has biological growth and large amount of dust restricting blower. Evaporator coil was extremely rusted. No water safety present. Outdoor unit overamping on start up, capicator out of tolerance, fan motor rusted and running at a high amp draw for the conditions, and the contactor was pitted and buzzing. Due to the cost of repairs, the upcoming refridgerant change and the likelihood of future repairs, I would recommend speaking with a comfort advisor about replacement.
For the super tune-up I inspected the air handler and condenser, all equipment was measuring at the manufacturer specs and running well. I replace the thermostat the customer had as he was promised the new one and tested it and it worked like it should.
On this job I inspected the heating side of the system and back up heat kit. The system has great froen levels. The system heat kit pulls 20 amps each. The outside condensor is a bocsh inverter in great shape. Today Installed an iaq200 to help air quality. Also starts a home and budget plan
11/12/24 TS- small drain issues will need to be replaced in the future. All big items like w/h are new
For this job Ryan and I confirmed diagnosis that the reversing valve is getting stuck in heating when it should be cooling. This system is a heat pump that is set up as cooyfor the default and heating when there is a 24V call.
For this heating tune-up I inspected the air handler and condenser. As far as the heating side of things the system was running well. I had to reprogram the thermostat because it was improperly set up from the date of installation by another company. I programmed it for conventional setup instead of a heat pump setup as there is no O, only B. When I did that the system started functioning normally and cooling well
For the super tune-up I inspected the air handler and condenser, the blower capacitor as well as the compressor capacitor or both out of tolerance. Refrigerant levels looked good and after all is also were within acceptable ranges. I recommended to the customer replacing both capacitors as well as adding whole home surge protection to prevent against power surges and or lightning strikes that may affect the HVAC system as well as other electronics in the home.
Changed out UV bulb
For this evaluation I showed up to the customer's home and he stated the indoor was running however the outdoor was not. I started out the outdoor and I could hear the compressor and fan trying to start, but unsuccessfully. I measured the capacitor and it was completely dead so I told the customer he would need to be replaced and he elected to go with a level 2 capacitor. Once installed system fire right up and started cooling.
System was at factory specs indoor coil dirty was cleaned need to come back to change uv bulb
For this cooling tune-up I inspected the air handler and condenser, all equipment was measuring within manufacturer specs. I had more than a 20⁰ temperature differential from the return to supply, and refrigerant levels looked good based off the wet and dry bulb and superheat. Amp draws for the compressor and fan while running were below the maximums and the capacitor was also within tolerance. Overall the system is in good working condition.
Came out for a membership tune-up checked everything indoor and outdoor and heat mode and in cool mode everything checks out running cooling heating however it took quite some time to clean the outdoor coils because of how dirty they were made the recommendation to the homeowner to give us a call back in 6 months and have us come out and clean them again as well as gave them some tips on how to keep up with it in the meantime such as turning the unit off while mowing their lawn made a few recommendations most important is the compressor saver kit however the homeowner is unable to take care of recommendations today they may call us back in the near future left them with the new home and budget protection plan information
On this job inspected the system on the heating side.this is a heat pump system. With 15° SUPER HEAT AND and 8 subcool. The system has back up heat with in range. The cap is out of tolerance reading 42.8 should be 45. The system could use easy start to increase long jetvity and uv to tackle bio growth on the evap coil.
10/08/24 TS- could not access the waterheater at this time. Customer declined plumbing inspection on whole house. Just mainly the ac furnace
Came out for an evaluation unit was thought upon arrival but the issue was that it was freezing immediately once you turn it on verified return air flow was not a problem indoor blower motor was not a problem performed a leak search thoroughly indoor and out to everything that I had access to unable to find leak added a little refrigerant to try to help find the leak performed another leak detection indoor and out still unable to find anything superheat and subcool were fluctuating over time even though the metering device is a piston ran everything by Ryan through the whole call verified air flow coming out of all of the vents front side and back side of the double wide trailer unit is currently not freezing and cooling with a 20° temperature split if problem returns please send supervisor
