For this heating tune-up I inspected the customer's furnace as well as the evaporator coil and condenser. Overall the furnace looked pretty good and went through the sequence of operations just fine however the heat exchanger is slightly rusted and that can be a potential weak point in the future for carbon monoxide to leak out into the home and cause sickness. I inspected the evaporator coil and also leak searched it since it is 17 years old, and rusted. Well he's searching I found a leak where at the looks and where the coil sits in the coil drain pan. With how old the coil is, the coil is no longer under manufacturer warranty and would cost $5500 to replace just the coil. My overall recommendation for the customer would be complete system replacement, it would be a better investment in the home in the long run since it would lower energy bills with a more efficient system and they would not have to worry about costly repairs for at least 10 years. Other than system replacement I a

He was a little concerned as to why his sprinkler system was still working whenever he turned off the breaker for landscaping but I figured out it was connected to the garage GFCI I also found that the GFCI breaker for his washer kept nuisance tripping and recommended a replacement he is ordering the part himself and is going to call us to put it in

On arrival systems running a and heating as intended. Indoor units clean and functioning without issue. Installed two drain treatment strips. Outdoor units passed all electrical testing. Upstairs unit capicator out of tolerance and contactor buzzing and pitted. Replaced both with customers permission. When I left systems running and cooling.
Arrived to no cool. 2 system home. Downstairs system was not cooling. Discovered that the compressor was not starting due to a faulty 45/5 auxiliary motor start. Replaced with a basic motor start and performed function check. Also performed a safety inspection on the gas furnaces. System operating normally at time of departure.
Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. System is a 4yo Amana heat pump. INDOOR: Customer wanted to wait on changing filter, the drain was clear, the blower had major dust buildup and needed cleaning, the bottom side of the A-coil was very dirty and needed cleaning, the amount of dust buildup in the indoor equipment is most definitely affecting the airflow of the system. The temperature split was 18 degrees, and the heat strips were functioning within range. OUTDOOR: I washed and waxed the unit before taking any readings. The compressor and fan motor were operating within manufacturer range. The capacitor was weak and in need of replacement, I swapped it out under Warranty P&L. The primary electrical control was in good condition. I was unable to take accurate refrigerant charge readings because of the low airflow in the indoor equipment and because of the low temperatures outside. I shared my findings with the homeowner and gave my estimates for cleaning the in
