Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowners. Both systems are 12yo comfort Maker heat pumps. LEFT SIDE: INDOOR: systems had a temperature split of 9 degrees, I found a leak in the evaporator coil. The coil had a heavy amount of corrosion on it. I brought the customers to the unit and shared with them what I found. The blower was clean and blower motor was in good condition. The heat strips were functioning within range. No drain protection was installed. OUTDOOR: The refrigerant charge was critically low. The compressor and fan motor were operating within manufacturer range electrically. The capacitor was out of tolerance reading 37 out of 45. I did not recommend replacing it without repairing leak first. Primary electrical control was in good condition. RIGHT SIDE: INDOOR: System had a temperature split of 21 degrees, this coil also have very heavy corrosion but no leak was found. The blower was clean and the blower motor was in good condition. Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. System is a 4yo amana heat pump. INDOOR: system has a temperature split of 24 degrees, the filter was replaced, the coil was clean, the blower was clean, heat strips were in range, the UV system was operating normally, and the static pressures were acceptable. OUTDOOR: I washed and waxed the unit before taking any readings. The compressor and fan motor were operating within manufacturer range, the auxiliary motor starter was within tolerance and the primary electrical control was in good condition. When checking the refrigerant charge I found the levels to be acceptable given the outdoor temperature at this time. I shared my findings with the homeowner and recommended surge protection. The unit was operating normally when I left.
Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. I started with getting a temperature split of the system in heat mode, I got a 20 degree split and the split was widening the longer it was running. The filter was not in need of changing at this time. The drain line was clear and a wet switch was installed below the unit. The coil was clean, and the UV bulb was operating properly. The blower motor had very minimal dust buildup. The furnace went through all of its safeties with no issue and began to operate normally. I was unable to get a look inside the attic because the entrance was unaccessible at this time. System was operating normally when I left.
