Matt B. stopped by the other day to give a 2nd opinion on a problematic HVAC unit. He found the obvious problem in less than 2 minutes and presented a couple of options to get it resolved. The company I had out to look at it before I called Comfort Experts got it totally wrong. Thank you Matt B. and Comfort Experts! I wish I had called you first.
We call them every 6 months for an A/C filter change. This time our technician was Joel. He took his time cleaning our outer unit, checking it for issues, then up in our hot attic changing the filter and double checking that everything is working smoothly and that there's nothing growing up there, no water in the pan, etc. We like these guys. They are clean, prompt and thorough. Thank you! July 2023 update: This time we had Ian. He was thorough and professional, as well as likeable. Haven't had an issue with any tech yet, they are all so awesome. April 2024 update: still using these guys, still happy. Our technician today was Mike. He was awesome: professional, knowledgeable and very cool. Checked out the issue I called about and stayed very late to make sure out was solved.
for this job, we did an evaluation. At arrival the system was on but not running. Homeowner said that the system had just gone off the other night and turned on momentarily before turning off again. I started at the air handler and checked the drain lines noticed that the safety had been activated and the lines were clogged. Homeowner accepted a drain clearing and a membership. After clearing the drain, we put everything back together, turned the thermostat on, and waited 20 minutes to verify that the unit would continuously run.
Estimate to install ceiling fan. Emailed to customer. He has some other quote coming in and will reach out if work is needed.
Panel looks great as well as the sub no surge protector and currently not interested but gfci's are present and functioning
Arrived onsite inspected are drain where ac drains into pipe. There is no moisture there now and is draining properly. Advised customer if the problem happens again may need to run a camera and see if something else is going on under home.
On arrival system running and cooling as intended and drain lines flowed when flushed. Outdoor units capicator was out of tolerance and compressor was overamping on start up. Added compressor saver kit and changed out customer supplied thermostat. System cooling as I left. Raining at time of maintenance.

Came to house to give quote to aff 80 amp car charger
For this job , I did a super tune up. Everything in the airhandler looked Suggested he get a new filter box and and also showed him the biogrowth and suggested a UV system. At the condenser, SupEr heat and sub cool were in range. In rush was high and capacitor was out of tolerance. Suggested a new capacitor and he installed a hard or soft start. Was told he needs to speak with spouse first. Washed condenser and put everything back together. Air conditioning was running when I left
On arrival system running and cooling producing 20 degrees delta. Drain lines flowing. Indoor unit clean and in good condition. Outdoor unit passed all electrical testing but was overamping on start up. Customer declined all recommendations to address this.
On this job i discovered. The drain line backed up an out of tolernace cap drity blower motor and a bad breaker at the panel that when tured off doesnt turn back on easily. Today im charging for a drian clear in the closet. We talk about membership. He wants a couple of days to think it over. Not interested in system replacement.
On arrival system ran and cooled as intended producing 18 degrees cooling. Indoor unit clean, installed iaq 200 and April aire filter upgrade. Condenser passed all electrical testing. System cooling as I left.
4/26/25 Paused job for now the sink customer ordered did not come with mounting brackets. Customer is going to order the mounting brackets and let us know when they come in.
Upon arrival the homeowner informed me that the indoor fan has been running but not blowing cool air. Ownee noticed this happened for the first time 3 weeks ago but has not used the cooling side of the unit since then. Followed the path of 24 volts starting from the outside back to the inside. When arriving to the thermostat, the system began cooling. Jumpered wires y, g, o to r together to keep system running. Checked refrigerant levels and deltas. Everything checked while system was running came back within normal limits. Recommended soft start kit due to over amperage on startup, recommended drain strip due to dirty drain lines, recommended new thermostat due to thermostat being the last thing checked on the 24 v path, recommended membership for discounts and warranties. Owner declined all recommendations at this time and stated they had to talk with their wife before spending mone on anything aside from the evaluation. Left system running on 72 cool.
Customer will pick up sink at have it at the property ready to go on Friday need to schedule for Friday morning install.
On arrival system running and cooling producing 20 degrees of cooling. Indoor unit had bacterial growth but otherwise in good condition. Outdoor unit passed all electrical testing but contactor was buzzing and very pitted. Strongly recommended replacing contactor. System running and cooling on departed.

Paying 2 jobs for plugs. Not working in bedroom and troubleshooted and found out that it was a burnt up plug so swapped it out
For this super tune-up I inspected the customer's furnace and condenser, the blower capacitor was out of tolerance reading 16 MFD out of 20 mfd. The inducer motor is over amping on startup and once the system regulates it drops down to .44 amps with an FLA of .4 amps. High amp draws on a motor can cause that motor to fail from overheating so I do recommend replacing that inducer motor before the start of next winter. Additionally I recommend the customer installing a hard start kit to the condenser as this will lower amp draw on startup keeping in Rush amps from exceeding the maximum. Lastly I would recommend the customer receive a duct cleaning so they have had remodeling done to their home and there's a large amount of construction dust inside the furnace and the filter gets dirty quickly, indicating that dust is circulating throughout the home.
