The Importance of a Well-Functioning Air Conditioner
Your home should be a sanctuary where you can find comfort and relaxation. A properly working air conditioner ensures that your indoor environment remains cool and pleasant, even when the temperature soars outside. Aside from the obvious comfort factor, a well-functioning AC unit also helps improve indoor air quality, prevents heat-related illnesses, and protects your valuable furniture and electronics from heat damage. And when you need to replace your old heating and cooling system, we'll be there to walk you through the process with options that fit you budget.
Signs of a Failing Air Conditioning System
If you recognize these signs early, it can save you from a complete system breakdown.
- Unusual Noises - If your air conditioner suddenly starts making strange noises, like rattling, grinding, or squealing, it's a clear sign that something is amiss. Unusual sounds often indicate loose or worn-out components that need immediate attention.
- Weak Airflow - Is your AC blowing weak or barely cool air? Poor airflow might be caused by clogged air filters, ductwork issues, or a failing compressor.
- Frequent Cycling - Does your AC turn on and off frequently? This short cycling not only hinders your comfort but also increases energy consumption, leading to higher utility bills.
- Escalating Energy Bills - Speaking of utility bills, a sudden surge in energy costs without any other explanation could be attributed to an inefficient air conditioning system.
- Uneven Cooling- Are some rooms in your house significantly cooler than others? Inconsistent cooling indicates possible ductwork problems or imbalances in your AC system.

- Unit size and type: Larger units and higher-efficiency models (measured in SEER rating) generally cost more.
- Brand and warranty: Premium brands and longer warranties can increase the price.
- Labor costs: Rates vary by company and complexity of the installation.
- Ductwork and electrical work: If additional modifications are need, it will add to the overall cost.

To determine if your Arlington water heater needs to be repaired or replaced check the following signs include:
- Low water pressure: If you notice that your hot water pressure is lower than usual, it is a sign that your water heater may not be working properly. This can be caused by a variety of things, including a faulty thermostat, a clogged sediment trap, or a buildup of sediment in the tank.
- No hot water: If you don't have any hot water at all, it is a sign that your water heater has a serious problem. This could be caused by a number of things, including a blown fuse, a tripped circuit breaker, or a faulty water heater.
- Age: Water heaters typically last between 8 and 12 years. If your water heater is older than 10 years, it is likely time to start thinking about replacing it.
- Leaks: If you see any water leaking from your water heater, it is a sign that there is a problem. Leaks can be caused by a variety of things, including a faulty tank, a loose fitting, or a crack in the piping.

Try some of these DIY methods to clear minor drain clogs in your Arlington area home:

No you should not try to perform electrical repairs yourself unless you have some type of formal electrical training and certification. Performing electrical repairs without proper knowledge and experience can be dangerous. It's best to hire a licensed local Arlington electrician for any electrical work to ensure safety and compliance with electrical codes.
If you have safety or increased power demands and your Arlington home was built more than 25 years ago, you should consider upgrading your electrical panel.
Here are some key signs to watch for:
- Outdated panels may lack modern safety features like circuit breakers that trip quickly to prevent overheating and fire risks. Newer panels offer enhanced safety mechanisms.
- If your house has aluminum wiring it can deteriorate and pose fire risks. Upgrading to a panel compatible with copper wiring.
- If circuits are constantly tripping due to overloaded appliances, it indicates insufficient capacity.
- Modern appliances like high-end refrigerators, electric vehicles, and hot tubs draw significantly more power. Your current panel might not be equipped to handle their combined load.
Even without immediate needs, upgrading to a panel with higher amperage (e.g., 200 amp) prepares your home for future electrical demands, like additional appliances or potential solar panel installations.

Today I showed up for an evaluation on a 14-year-old gas furnace not staying on turns out it was the flame sensor however the flame sensor is under warranty last replaced in 2021 so there was no charge today other than the service fee thank you for choosing comfort experts!
Today I completed Rec work for replacing an x13 blower motor under manufacturer's warranty left unit in regular heat mode verified temperature split with homeowner standing there everything is operating as it should thank you for choosing comfort experts!
For this evaluation I showed up to the customer's house for a no heat call. When I turned the system on it was only blowing room temperature air and hot heating because the condenser was not on. I reset the air handler breakers and after a time delay the system kicked on and started blowing hot air. The customer told me that the previous homeowner had installed the system himself, and he has had issues since they bought the house 1.5 years ago. At the condenser the compressor was pulling over the RLA, and high side pressure was at 500 PSI, indicating the system is likely overcharged. I switched the system to cooling where I had a 20⁰ SH, 10⁰ SC which looked normal, however with how dirty the evaporator coil is that can very likely be contributing to the over amperage and high pressure causing the system to shut down. With the issues the customer stated he's been having as well as the system not being professionally installed and errors likely having been made I recommend to the custome
Today I completed rec work by replacing the indoor evaporator coil under warranty per Ryan we did not charge another 550 refrigerant fee since it was only a month ago that we repaired the condensing coil at which time they did in fact pay the refrigerant charge left the unit running in heat mode it satisfied the thermostat before I left had a 30° temperature split and the suction line temperature was about 100° above ambient temperature
Installed 30a rv outlet on exterior of garage. Replaced gfci in garage. Replaced 4 bulbs with led bypass
Customer wanted to set his toilet and faucet ....there is no flange and stops need to be change out from flare stops and they are seized up customer needs new lavatory faucet and stops and supplies as well also offered membership
Gave estimate to clear stoppage access through trap customer needs to speak with husband first
Arrived onsite customer was concerned there was a water line under home that was not insulated. Crawled under home and inspected water lines did not see any water line that was not insulated under home..
Performed super tune up Washed condensor and tightened connections Filter was recently replaced Delta 18 All cooling and heating components are in tolerance Reccomended home and budget protection plan Reccomended compressor saver kit Reccomended soft start kit Reccomended duct cleaning System left on heat at exit
Rebuilt toilet in master bathroom area. Tested after repairs were made everything working properly.
Today I showed up for an evaluation on a four-year-old heat pump unit blower motor was not coming on 240 volts are available at the motor and 24 volt communication is being applied as well so I am condemning this x-13 we are ordering a replacement under manufacturer's warranty homeowner also signed up for the new home budget and protection plan balance paid in full as soon as we get the part we will call to reschedule at the homeowners convenience thank you for choosing Comfort Experts!
On this job I inspected the heating side of the system. I found an out of tolerance warrenty cap 45 5 and replaced it and added an easy start to the system. The td is in heating is 30 the system is now in full tolerance and ready for heating. Would like paper invoice sent to him for today's charges.
Performed inspection customer said no issues he had inspection 6 mon ago did leave est for flood stop and pan for preventative issues
System was had a little bit dust on the blower inducer motor amperage was within tolerance rise and fall of the furnace was within range filters were clean and all safeties were working. The condenser outside. Capacitor was with intolerance.customer was talking about biological growth in the ducts I recommend a duct cleaning and ieq 200 customers financing the duct cleaning and wants it done on the 22nd
The system when I arrived was going through the order of operations of a furnace but it was stopping after the gas came on. On further inspection the flame sensor was working intermittently and was very dirty so I changed it out for a new one system now heating
For this evaluation the customers heat pump was not going into defrost mode like it should and the condenser was covered in a thick layer of ice. I put the defrost control board into test mode and with the system calling for heat this still would not work and the condenser would not go into defrost mode. The customers are under parts and labor warranty so I went ahead and swapped out that defrost control board with a new one and wired it up and tested it before leaving and verified it's functionality.
Today I showed up for an evaluation on a 7-year-old heat pump unit that was only operating an emergency heat upon my arrival the unit was flat on refrigerant reading zero PSI added a little refrigerant so I could leak check the outdoor unit the previous repair to the condenser coil is holding just fine found no leaks on the outdoor unit so I went to look at the evaporator coil and found the leak there we are ordering an evaporator coil under warranty as soon as we get it we will call the customer back to schedule replacement unit is operating with emergency heat at the moment and satisfying the thermostat
Freeze on a 2016 Bryant heat pump forced defrost and system would not go through defrost cycle need to replace defrost control board and defrost system for further testing. Customer wants to thaw system and try to get through the rest of winter.
Was complaining that the heat pump nvr stop working. He feared something was wrong with it. The system goes into deforestation as it should and produces heat. The system also has auxiliary heat he now knows how to use it.
