Today I showed up for a warranty tuna checked everything indoor and outdoor the only issues I have to report are the inrush amps approaching manufacturers limitations for the outdoor unit that outdoor unit is surrounded by overgrowth and the coils were severely restricted when I showed up I did wash the coils with water from the inside out however I recommend a deep thorough cleaning after they remove all of that overgrowth I flush the drain line with white vinegar it was flowing freely but looked a little slimy filters were pretty restricted but homeowner did not have new filters for me to change out today made recommendations discussed options homeowner chose not to take any recommendations today left unit running in cool mode
Arrived for STU – rained Filter fine Drains clear Blower and coil clean Heat strips fine Delta fine Condenser coil clean Motors, capacitors, and refrigerant fine Installed IAQ200 upgrade
For this super tune-up I inspected the customers air handler and condenser, for the most part all equipment was measuring with the manufacturers specs with the exception of the compressor over amping on startup. The compressor was pulling 171 amps on startup with a maximum amp draw of 152 amps. With high amps the compressor is working harder than it should and it can cause the compressor to shut down or lockout. I recommend installing either a hard start kit or soft start kit the difference in the two is a hard start kit lowers amp draws by roughly 30% however a soft start kit will lower in Rush amps by 80 to 90%.
Install Amana 2 speed hz heat pump systems 48k for downstairs and 24k for upstairs with high efficiency filtrations and code kits
I have completed a etu and I found that the condition of the electrical panel is in need of a bit of rejuvenation the inside cover has been taken off for some time and there are multiple breakers that aren't of the original brand, but the main concern is the extension cord that goes from under the panel cover to a plug to power the circuit

Replaced evaporator coil under warranty, pressure tested and pulled vacuum and everything looked good. System was overcharged to begin with so with the slight leak and after the pump down and release of refrigerant back through the system the customers did not need more refrigerant added to the system. Superheat was lower than required based off piston superheat chart.
On arrival systems running and cooling producing 20 degrees deltas. Indoor units passed all testing and drain lines flowed when flushed. Large amounts of construction dust are bypassing current filters, recommended April aire filter upgrade kits to prevent this and improve air quality and systems longevity. Outdoor units passed all electrical testing but both compressors overamped on start up. Recommended compressor saver kits to bring amp draw on start up down within manufacturers red line. System running and cooling on departure.
Unable to complete tune-up due to high voltage issues with the outdoor unit caused by dog homeowner believes he has a warranty and is going to talk to the office on Monday however even if a warranty exist it does not cover damage by pets so all of the high voltage stuff for the outdoor unit is going to be out of pocket
For this evaluation the customers indoor was running however the condenser was not because the Condenser was throwing an L2 high pressure cut off fault. I had an 6⁰ SC and 12⁰ SH, indicating the system is good on refrigerant and not over charged. The condenser coil and filter were both clean, as we were out here only a couple of months ago for their STU. I reset the condenser and it fired up and started cooling.
Arrived onsite gave customer an estimate for water filtration system. Customer wants to sign up for the membership but was in a hurry to leave. Requested office call to get her signed up for membership.
For this evaluation the customers stated they smelled what they believed was refrigerant in their home. Now we're not sure if it was from the system or possibly their refrigerator however when I showed up I leak searched the coil and sure enough I found a leak which is why they were smelling refrigerant in the home. Coil will need to be replaced and I'll be back to install it once it is in.
Wife is a trauma nurse and was called out right before our meeting so husband needs to talk to her. He will call me back after doing so.
Other super tune-up I inspected the customer's air handler and condensers, all equipment was measuring within manufacturer specs and running well. I added low voltage protection at the condenser.
Came to job for electrical inspection and. Customer had a few issues with connectors. And little things on the panel, so explain to him and showed him everything that I saw and explained that it wouldn't pass code. And talk to him about resolving those issues and and customer also have breakers tripping and help them to get breakers ordered. And they will call back when we are already to swap out breaker
Return to repair broken clean out cap on existing system courtesy from precious rec work
For this cooling tune-up I inspected the customer straight electric System and condenser. I'll equipment was measuring within manufacturer's specs and running well. I recommend to the customers installing a UV sanitation system in their supply plenum as that UV light is powerful enough to kill bacteria and airborne pathogens that are circulating in the home. There is no water safety on the system at all so I would recommend installing a float switch to the primary drain line to prevent any water damage in case the drain line backs up.
Spoke with customer she wanted to know if we came by informed her it's already been completed job complete
On arrival system was cooling producing 15 degrees of cooling. System has a superheat of 40 when the target is 5. This proves the system is low on refridgerant. Found no leaks outside and got intermittent hits on the leak detector at the corroded evaporator coil. Recommended speaking with a comfort advisor about replacement due to age and condition of system. Customer wants to think about it and call us back.
During this visit I looked at both the aating and cooling side and tested both to make sure they work. The cooling side makes a td of 20° heating side is 30°. The system works as it should. They didn't have filters for me to change today. The system does need them change ASAP. Other then this i recommend an easy start to help the system live longer.
For this evaluation the customers stated they were running their emergency heat because they were told not to run the heat pump when it dips below freezing and today they came back from lunch and their system started making an alarm sound and shut off. I was unable to replicate the issue or the alarm, however my best guess is the system tripped a high limit switch and that is why it shut down. Unfortunately the board on the air handler does not give me an option to recall previous codes and it was not showing a code when I showed up. I tested the system of both heating and cooling and emergency heat and it ran flawlessly. I explained to the customer's that the system is designed to run when it is below freezing and that the system would automatically turn on emergency heat when the heat pump goes into defrost mode. I left with the system set to heat and 70⁰.
Verified safety, system checked out fine. Insured the heat pump was operating fine, auxillary heat is operational.
