7/17/25 For job I performed a evaluation. The system had froze at so.e point on 7/16/25 but had not done again since then. I told the homeowner it is likely caused by airflow or refrigerant issues. Service to IAQ, need to order damper and schedule Zak to complete damper replacement and give estimates for sealing the system due to cool air leaks in the attic. Refrigerant was wnl, perfect 20 delta. I left the broken overheated damper open and unplugged to not cause airflow restrictions.
7/1/25 Filter fine System low on refrigerant again Lineset freezing up Pausing call
Found clogged drain clear drain unit now draining properly paid in full by credit card
Spoke with customer about changing TXV to piston to get better cooling capacity out of their unit sending estimate to customer also spoke with customer about service agreement
At arrival circuit breaker was defective with only 1 leg supplying 105volts. Replaced circuit breaker. Made a STRONG recommendation to upgrade service. Stating multiple concerns with age and installation integrity.
Performed evaluation Upon arrival system was off Restored power and indoor unit turned on Outdoor unit was not operational Main electrical components on condensor are in tolerance Inconsistent high voltage to disconnect 105 right terminal 10 Left terminal Inspected main breaker box and found multiple breakers are tripped Once resetting burning smell came from breaker box (lower breaker bottom box) Due to multiple levels of failure electrical inspection is reccomended System left off at exit Schedule electrical technician for tomorrow 05/14/25
Customer had questions about adding water safety, answered their questions and installed it. Tested and worked like it's supposed to.
3/5/25 Customer was called into work and not home at the time
For this evaluation the customers furnace was throwing a high limit switch code and igniter code. I reset the system and the igniter would randomly ignite when the gas valve was opening signifying that igniter is failing and not getting hot enough. Additionally the high limit switch is faulty, the filter is clean and both zones were opened when the furnace was running and the system was not going over 125⁰F. The limit switch will have to be ordered and I will return once it arrives to install it. I recommend installing a float switch to the primary drain line as there is no water safety on the system to prevent flooding in case of a clog within the drain line.
Arrived at customers house for super tuneup Outdoor capacitor severally out of tolerance 70 is pulling 2 Showed customer and Recommended replacement Recommended membership conversion Recommended pan strip for drain line All declined as of now
She's been having trouble with some GFCI ch breakers so I explained exactly what is happening and why, they are going to order some breakers of their own to replace the problematic ones
Alex D – recovered refrigerant from unit cut off and redid existing flares to outdoor unit pressure tested and checked for leaks with soap bubbles pulled vacuum and recharged unit with r-32 3.3lbs
THIS IS A RECALL ON THE INSTALL TEAM Techs Cody and Anthony arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. When we arrived the mini split was not cooling and was giving a low refrigerating error code. We conducted a leak search and found the flare fitting connections on the outdoor unit were covered in oil residue and we got a confirmation hit with out leak detector. We called Joe S. to inform him of the issue because this is a new install, he said he would send out an install team to remedy the leak and refill the system with R32 refrigerant. We informed the customer that an install team would make it's way out and repair the system. System was down when we left.
Tech Cody and Anthony arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. When we arrived the garage mini split was not cooling. The indoor unit would come on and the fan would turn on but the outdoor unit was not running. We turned off high voltage for 5 minutes and turned it back on to let the system reboot. After the reboot the system turned on and began to cool, we turned the system on and off two times with the remote and the system operated normally the whole time. We shared our findings with the homeowner and explained how he could reboot the system if he needed to. System was cooling when we left.
Tech Cody arrived to customer's home and met the homeowner. The system was cooling when I arrived, the homeowner informed that before they left out of town there was ice on the lineset at the outdoor unit. When I arrived there was no ice building up, when I hooked up my guages I noticed that the subcool was fluctuating because the TXV was hunting. I added 6oz of refrigerant to see if the metering device would stop hunting but it did not. At the indoor unit the TXV was attached tightly to the suction line inside of the unit, the coil was clean and I conducted a courtesy leak search but did not find a leak. When I tested the airflow of the system I made sure all zones were open and I read a static pressure of 1.0wc. This was double was the max rating was on the data tag. I shared my findings with the homeowner and recommended they talk to comfort advisor for a ductwork engineering assessment, at this time the homeowner also informed me that the front room is always hot in the summer and
