Regretting past install with your company
No issues with heat pump install or service. I had my previously unfinished sunroom vent disconnected and sealed with pump install and technician said he just disconnected and sealed it and it would be no issue to reconnect if I ever finished and sealed room. I had your company come out today to reconnect vent or plan to after assessment. Was quoted 2100 on what was assured to me last year was an easy quick fix. Technician today said he was not sure what exactly your previous installers did last year but they left it in a state that to reconnect would be anything but easy or cheap due to previous tech disposing of large portion of vent from looks of it. How can a vent that was blowing great last year be disconnected and now it’s 2100 to reattach??? Definitely seems like I was not left in the best condition after he disconnected it and said reattachment would be simple in future.
Everyone with company has been polite and professional and very respectful in all interactions.
Lesson I learned is to get more detailed information on what exactly is getting done in your attic and then check on work during service. Going to get multiple bids to correct this issue

On this visit the return grill was caked up prevent return air flow. After cleaning this off and putting a new filter i turned it on in heat pump mode to thaw the ice. Tested it in cooling and got 10° subcool and 13 super heat. Td is 20. I also leak searched and found no leaks.

For this job I replaced the condenser TXV. I pulled a vacuum for 30 minutes and let the system sit for 10 minutes and it passed a decay test. I charged the system with refrigerant to 8⁰ SC, and 12⁰ SH. I had a 20⁰ split in both heating and cooling indicating the system is charged appropriately. I left with the system cooling and set to 68⁰.

Upon arrival the technician noticed that the heat pump would not start up. Control board had L1 code indicating that it had gone down on a low pressure switch. After hiking up gauges the technician found there to be 0 pressure. Pressurized the system in order to find the leak. Found a crack in the outdoor TXV. TXV and filter drier must be replaced. Customer signed up for a membership with the repairs. Will return for repairs when parts come in.

Homeowner stated concerns for his wife's air quality and asked me to look deep into the system, I obliged.
Upon opening up the evaporator coil, I found visual oil streaks and rust. I performed a courtesy leak detection and my tool picked up refrigerant molecules.
I brought homeowner to the issue and educated on what I found.
Furthermore, the compressor is pulling 140amps.
As I expressed the systems performance and provided options I sent an email link for financing to replace indoor evaporator coil and restore the system.
Wife arrived and I was able to brief her as well.
Homeowner wants a couple days to consider repairs.

I completed a thorough evaluation of the system and found that there is a history of refrigerant recharge and capacitor replacement.
