Electricians in Carrollton, TX — Comfort Experts, Home of the Electrical Genius

Electricians in Carrollton should do more than flip a switch and hope for the best. At Comfort Experts, we believe in doing the job right first, treating your home like it’s our own, and talking to you like a neighbor—not a robot with a tool belt. That’s why we’re proud to call ourselves the Home of the Electrical Genius. We’ve seen sparks fly (literally), and we’ve calmed more breaker boxes than we can count.

We’ve helped Carrollton families through flickering lights, popped outlets, overloaded circuits, and the kind of mysterious electrical issues that leave you scratching your head. And we’ve done it with honesty, speed, and respect for your time. That’s the difference between just any technician—and a true Electrical Genius.

Toby is the best, most respectful and knowledgeable advisor we have ever had. If you need heating or air, he is your guy! Thank you Comfort Experts for hiring amazing employees.
Jeremy came by to check out our AC and we ended up needing a whole new unit. He took the time to walk us through all the options and got us such a good deal that we couldn’t say no. He was awesome to work with and made the whole process super easy. If you need a new AC, Jeremy is the one to call!
Mark D and Tyler B were very professional and knowledgeable. My electric bill had jumped and I knew something had been going on with the outside unit sounding bad. Mark explained what happened and got me fixed right away.
Thanks for the great service!
Michael and Alonso came out to assess our AC which had stopped cooling in the upstairs for about a week and turns out the "return duct" had some damage of the metal ring that goes around to I guess keep it secure and hold its cylinder shape. It's impossible to know when or how it got damaged whether by the installers or the duct cleaners we had in earlier this year. Although they weren't able to fix the issue, they were able to identify the problem and get me scheduled for their Expert to come out the next day to fully assess. They were professional, seemed knowledgeable and quick to complete the assessment and get me on the schedule.
I've owned my house for about five years now, and have trusted Comfort Experts to do much of the repair and maintenance work on it, with outstanding results.

But nothing compared to the scope of my most recent project, a partial re-plumbing of all the fast-deteriorating (and close to breaking) galvanized pipe running throughout my 1920s house – most of which was creatively installed in bizarre ways, many years ago.

So of course, Comfort Experts was my first call.

And I'm incredibly glad it was, because as challenge after challenge was uncovered, the Comfort Expert team worked through and overcame each of them – from an oddly-placed waterline, to the excavation and installation of a new water main through a yard filled with rock and tree roots (shout-out to C&R Excavation!), to reaching barely-accessible areas of the crawl space under the house to replace difficult-to-reach pipes. Etc.

It was a true team effort, and the Comfort Experts technicians handled everything in stride with determination, patience and professionalism.

Tyler B. – only two weeks into his role at the time – was already insulating pipes, navigating the crawl space, and digging holes like he'd been on the job for months.

Zach answered the call when he was needed; squeezing into ridiculously small spaces to access areas otherwise impossible to reach.

Daniel was with me every step of the way, and I was less anxious about the entire project knowing that it was in his very capable hands. He confidently navigated each unforeseen issue – and there were many – while patiently answering my questions and constantly troubleshooting issues with the team.

And then there was Mark W., who was everywhere and seemingly capable of doing everything. He was in the attic running a new drain line for my HVAC. He was under the house installing new pipe. He was hopping into holes with a jackhammer to assist the excavation team. He had a tool for everything, and an answer to every question, and his high standards for excellence – for his own work and that of his team – also gave me great peace of mind.

What started out as a seemingly simple project ended up taking a full 3.5 days – but I am so grateful that Comfort Experts got it done, and was able to do it right. My 100-year old house will stay standing a little while longer thanks to them!
Zak came the same day and was very professional and informative about the issues we had with our AC unit. Even though we fixed our problem without needing to use the services recommended...I still do recommend Comfort Experts(Zak L) for coming out and being patient. In the future I will contact Comfort Experts if needed Thank you
Adam did a great job replacing our aging water heater. He was quick and efficient and answered all our questions thoroughly. He gave us a tutorial when he was finished and made sure we understood all the components. Now we have greater peace of mind!
Adam did such a great job installing our new water heater today. He was very quick, very efficient, and he took great care to show us all about each component. He answered all our questions and gave us a great tutorial when he was finished. Zach also was a great helper, because that old water heater was HEAVY!! Adam is another reason we stay with Hobson Comfort Experts. Highly recommend!!
Cooper not only repaired the major issue, he made sure to address anything he could during initial inspection. Gramps (100yrs this year) really needed that snake treatment for his toilet, and I am so happy to have a free-flowing home again!!
Alex and Kealan did an amazing job on my mini split install. Thank y'all so much for your attention to detail and excellent workmanship. If you are getting anything installed by Comfort Experts, know that you will be taken care of.

When to Call an Electrician in Carrollton

Don’t wait until something starts smoking. If something feels off, sounds wrong, or stops working, it’s time to call us.

Here’s a list of signs you shouldn’t ignore:

  1. Outlets that spark or feel hot: That’s not just “quirky wiring.” It’s a warning sign. Get it looked at before it gets worse.
  2. Constantly tripping breakers: Your system’s crying uncle. It can’t keep up, and that’s asking for trouble.
  3. Flickering or buzzing lights: One light acting weird? Could be the bulb. A bunch of them? That’s electrical.
  4. Power surges: Those zaps can wreck your electronics. And they’re often symptoms of something deeper.
  5. Light switches that don’t work: No, it’s not your imagination. If it stops responding, a switch could be loose, damaged, or disconnected.
  6. Old wiring: If your home was built before 1980 and hasn’t been updated, it may be time to examine the wiring behind the walls.
  7. You smell burning plastic: Shut it off and call us. Right now. That’s never a good sign.
  8. You’re installing new appliances: Bigger appliances often need new circuits. Don’t guess—ask a pro.
  9. You’re remodeling: Moving walls or reworking rooms? Bring us in early to avoid headaches later.

Electricity is one of those things you don’t mess around with. If you’re thinking, Should I call someone about this?—then yes, you probably should.

Why Carrollton Calls Us First

We don’t show up late, talk over our heads, or vanish halfway through the job. We show up ready, keep you in the loop, and finish what we start. We don’t recommend things you don’t need, and we stand behind the work we do.

We know Carrollton homes like the backs of our hands. We know which neighborhoods still have aluminum wiring and which are ready for smart home upgrades. We’ve worked in condos, ranch-style homes, and townhouses with wiring older than some team members. And we’ve always treated each job with the same care—big or small.

You don’t need to speak electrical to work with us. We’ll explain the process, answer your questions, and leave your home safer than we found it.

What It Means to Be an Electrical Genius

Being an Electrical Genius doesn’t mean we wear lab coats and quote textbooks. It means we’ve wired thousands of homes, spotted fire hazards hiding in plain sight, and fixed problems that stumped three other contractors. It means we respect your space, your time, and your money.

We received a call last winter from a Carrollton homeowner whose Christmas lights would kill the living room every time she plugged them in. She thought it was just “too many lights.” However, the living room was still on the same circuit as her fridge and microwave. We split the load and added a dedicated outlet, and her lights stayed on all December—and so did the fridge.

It’s moments like that where experience matters. That’s what we bring.

What It's Like to Work With Us:

  1. You call. A real person answers, not a robot.
  2. We schedule. You pick a time that works, and we show up on time.
  3. We diagnose. No guesswork. We will find the issue and walk you through the fix.
  4. We repair or install. We come ready, with tools in hand.
  5. We clean up. You won’t find bits of wire or drywall on your floor.

Carrollton Electrician FAQs

That usually means your circuits are overloaded. It’s common, but it’s worth a look to prevent long-term damage.

Panels older than 25 years can be unreliable, especially if they use outdated brands like Federal Pacific. We’ll inspect it and let you know where you stand.

Technically? Maybe. Should you? Probably not. One wrong move can lead to shorts, sparks, or worse. We handle it fast and safely.

If you own a TV, computer, or smart appliances—yes. Surges can hit anytime, and surge protection saves you from expensive replacements.

First, check your breakers. If they’re fine, give us a call. A loose neutral wire or a bigger issue could be hiding behind your walls.
