Upon arrival, the system was not cooling effectively. Upon inspection, I identified a blockage in the primary drain line, which had caused the wet switch to trip. I carefully cleared the blockage from the drain line. To ensure the drain was completely clear and functioning properly, I poured a gallon of water through it. After confirming the drain was unobstructed, I restarted the system. The system is now running smoothly and has resumed its cooling function. I verified the system was operating correctly before leaving the site.

Upon inspection, the air conditioning system was not functioning properly, with refrigerant levels on the suction side being extremely low while the high side levels were within the acceptable range. This imbalance indicated that the thermal expansion valve (TXV) was not allowing the system to cool effectively. The TXV was found to be shut down, preventing proper refrigerant flow. During the service, I thoroughly inspected the 2012 Coleman Airhandler, ensuring all electrical connections were secure and tightened. The recently changed filters were in good condition, and the drain was clear and functioning properly. However, the blower motor and wheel had significant dust and dirt accumulation on the fins, and the evaporator coil was heavily coated with dust, dirt, and biological growth, along with rust on the u joints. A leak search on the evaporator coil revealed no leaks. For the 2012 Payne Heatpump, I checked and tightened all electrical connections, verified the dual run cap was within the manufacturer's range, and confirmed the primary electrical unit and defrost board were acceptable. The refrigerant levels showed low subcooling due to build-up on the coil and blower, potentially indicating leaks.
